I'm not normally inspired to post you tube videos as most are crap and worthless, however this one made me smile so much I had to watch it more than once and email it to my friends.

Though electro music isn't my cup of tea, I did enjoy this one because of the lyrics.

Good find, makes a good point, I terrible dislike repetitive music, which is why I am ashamed I have a Slayer album, variation is a good thing and so is talent, which is generic repetitive music lacks.

Trivium suddenly are trying to be Metallica, when I saw some of their newer music videos on Kerrang, I thought one of them was going to say 'oooahh' in a James Hetfield style and I could swear one of them sounded similar to 'Sad But True'. I almost saw them at download, but thought I could do with chilling out in the tent, thank goodness I didn't, I heard that their new way of playing sounded awful on their old songs. Shame really, I loved their first album.

What about Industrial, that comes under Electro (or at least it does in iTunes ) now I really hope you're not going to say Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie and Godhead suck, or I'll have to come around your house with a rope and a chair and imitate a certain scene of torture in James Bond: Casino Royale.

I really really like that. As a piece of music it was so-so, but as a "gospel"/message, it was pretty cool. The lyrics were very clever too. I enjoy music that has a 'deeper meaning' and this is one track that definitely fits that term.

Nice find

"Thou shall not use poetry art or music to get into girls' pants - Use it to get into their heads" <- pretty much sums up the track in terms of meaning

i just love the bit with the photocopier where he says:

Thou shalt not make repetitive generic music,
Thou shalt not make repetitive generic music,
Thou shalt not make repetitive generic music,
Thou shalt not make repetitive generic music,

Ironically funny

That's true about Trivium, but I often steer clear of the 'hair metal', I suppose they're the kind of bands who don't need drugs, the amount of hair spray they use is enough to make them high. Besides the metal you're referring to is mostly emo, quite whiny and annoying.

I like that statement, if all you care about is sex, then the girls who'll like you are the ones who's idea of beauty is your credit and a bundle of £50 notes, poetry, art and music is meaningful and shouldn't be used as a means to have sex with a pretty girl. The video picks up some pretty good points, seems to shoot down materialism, commercialism and being superficial.

I personally loved it, both the style and the lyrics.

Why not? Seemed to work for me

EDIT:

Just saw the clip and liked it. Castro's illegitimate son?

But what was the deal with the spelling of phoenix?

I'm not sure about that - I've never seen it spelled any other way than Phoenix (although by pronunciation, pheonix does make more sense - but if we're going with pronunciation then there probably wouldn't be an 'o' in it.)

Hehe, well I don't deny that it works, but I doubt you used it to get sex, just that sex came with what you wanted. Although I would not want to delve into your sex life, I'm still have nightmares from the person who used to tell everybody in 6th form about his.

With the Phoenix thing, by pronunciation, yes it makes more sense as Pheonix, but I always thought it to be spelled right because of certain UK English spellings of words like Foetus.

Hehe, I'm sure you love it, it was close enough to seeing Daniel Craig in real pain and that's satisfying enough, even if he was naked.

It can't be that disturbing. Some people go to the red light district and pay to have their balls whipped. Strange world.

Well, I do worry about you if you've got a fetish for going into a red light district to get your balls whipped while browsing the TGC forum. It'd be an interesting one to put into latin though...
