Hey guys,

I just came across this site that lists the top 100 game studios by revenue in the world. Interestingly enough Blizzard is not near the top of the list.

Hehe, I was thinking of something along those lines myself.

Looks good, nice reasource for anyone crazy enough to go around looking for publishers or jobs in the industry. (With all of those website links in one place)

I originally found it because EA Canada is up there, but it is interesting too. Like I said, I was surprised Blizzard isn't higher up there on the revenue scale, considering they make thick from WOW.

Good thing The Creative Assembly and Capcom made the list, some of their games are truly great.

The Creative Assembly -- Mideval II: Total War and Rome:Total War

Capcom -- Final Fight (SNES),
Final Fight 2 (SNES),
Final Fight 3 (SNES),
Final Fight: Streetwise (PS2, XBOX)

What's with attaching images to the bottom of each of your posts now? it's getting annoying I turned signatures images off for a reason

@Jeku

Since the numbers are based off of UK retail sales, maybe they're slightly different in the USA and other parts of the world. I'm sure Blizzard has to be higher up. There's many people still buying and playing starcraft at my school, let alone WoW and other Blizzard games.

How often do you hear of id releasing a new title? Once every what, 10 years?

Most of those companies I've never even heard of. Must be a lot of consoles or something.

Because the ratings are based off UK retail, I don't think that's the reason why there's so many UK companies in the list. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't buy games specifically made by developers from my country

id Software and Valve are not high on the list as you said, they release games like every 5 years. And they make the bulk of their money from licensing their game engines, which would not reflect on the retail market.

but still the games that Valve have made are some of the best quality there is, that is deffinatly an upside for them spending so long on them
