Maybe if i had a DS. But honestly its getting a bit repetitive in terms of gameplay unless if this one is totally different. Its true i checked it out on google and well there's a couple new pokemon and abit better graphics but it probably will have similar gameplay with a couple new features. I thought they would make it 3D by now in terms of graphics but it still is 2D, though i have to agree the 2D graphics are better than the older versions.

Not the time nor the place to discuss this. It's all a matter of preference.

I'd get the new pokemon except there's barely any new changes to gameplay. Honestly, I think what they should have done is stopped a long time ago and then release the originals with this updated look. Blue and Red are still my favs

Well, 3D would look pretty bad on the DS, its not powerful enough to give a good experience, however the new Pokemon for the Wii will have online play.

i loved those games. I still play them from time to time. I think they had some of the best gameplay of the time, and are still very good.

I never was a very big fan of the cards, they had too many stupid rules. I never collected any cards except the Babylon5 cards from awhile ago.

Silver's the best, though the original three I played the most. And there are a lot diff in the game this time around... battles are similar though. And if you think the 3d looks bad, you have clearly not seen it. It looks basically like the others, only better and 3d if it's moving. So, if you hated the way it looked before, you probably won't like seeing it in 3d. The 3d itself though, is well done.
The impression I get is this is what the last Pokemon's should have been, and a bit more (I HATED Ruby and Sapphire).

The starters include a Penguin and a Fire Monkey, which just happen to some of the greatest animals ever. And because of wifi, you'll never have trouble with trading again, and you'll be able to battle anyone you want.

The cards, show, and pretty much everything but the handheld games sucked, as far as I'm concerned.

So yes, this is the biggest, best looking, longest, and most complex Pokemon ever. It may turn out to be repetitive, though most of what was repetitive is taken care of with these versions. I wouldn't have posted so much, but most of the complaints are based on lack of knowledge, so I thought I might post some of what I know (it adds up after checking up every few weeks).

Red, Blue, & Yellow > Crystal, Silver, Gold > Ruby, Sapphire, & Emerald > Trading Card Game > 3d games > TV Show > Trading Cards

So far in my opinion.

I use to be a big fan of Pokemon. But it started to crap. They replaced a lot of people in the TV show. But the games for the gameboy are still awesome.

It's a weird thing Pokémon... The sixth form college I go to is conjoined with a high school and I've noticed that the craze seems to have started again, particularly in the lower school.

Even if I tried though, I doubt I could ever get into it. I mean, everyone completed it when it was new like 5 years ago, and it's not really the type of game that warrants the effort that'd be put into it to complete it AGAIN. Granted, it was a good fulfilling game when it was released, but when you've got a full encyclopedia thing and used the cheat to get your Pokémon up to level 100, there's not a lot left to play for.

I haven't heard of any new Pokémon game since like Silver - which didn't really interest me as I'd gone off the game after playing Blue for so long. It'd take something completely different for me to have the enthusiasm, determination and commitment to complete yet another installment of Pokémon - and I doubt these new games have this. I think that making it 3D would ruin it though, like it did all the old classics (Sonic, Worms etc - with PoP probably being the exception) but it certainly lacks something that really makes me want to play it over any of the other games available.

I might consider getting one of the new ones, haven't played them since Silver/Gold. Are they putting in any features to make use of the DS's capabilities?

The 3D wouldn't have to suck. If a ground plane was done using the GBA hardware, F-Zero Style, it would leave about 2000 quads for the characters.

AH! Thats what it was...i really didn't watch much of the show after Misty left....i was so like, ASH, you need to hook up! But it never happened...ASH just let her slip away...blah!

but i used to be a pokemon fan, i had pokemon snap for n64, it was boringly fun...if that makes sense?

though, i'm pure season 1-2 digimon fan forever pokemon just started going in weird directions, and only the first movie was any good. Or what i remember anyway, that was so long ago.

LOL

the glitch near the island...

I remember once i had the ROM for gold version on my PC, I downloaded some tools and edited it. I switched the sprites so you played as a team rocket member, and team rocket was composed of the player sprite. I used a hexadecimal editor to edit the text. The storyline was a continuation of red and blue. I got about half way through it and stopped for some reason.

I'm gonna go play through the entire red version. I have nothing better to do...

I actually bought a LeafGreen on ebay first (which I believe is a remake of Blue) but on delivery found it to be a fake. I sent it back to the seller for a refund and bought a bona fide Emerald a couple of weeks later. I did play the leafgreen for a couple of hours before sending it back and having clocked 17 hours already on Emerald they seem not to be very different... though Emerald appears to be slightly harder.

I dunno, I still like Emerald.
Speaking of which, I've got:
2 Rayquazas
1 Groudon
2 Kyogres
1 Mewtwo
Mewtwo is from Leafgreen and the extra Kyogre and Rayquaza are from Sapphire.

I might get one, but it'll probably be because I've got nothing better to do.

I had a lv 300 electrode in blue. Missingno (or whatever it's called) was put in so that you could only catch it after you had done any of the built in cheats, and once you caught it, it would slowly destroy your saved game.

I got a Mew in yellow, and trained it to level 96...

And here are screen of the new ones, to show people what it means that they are 3D...

Not exactly what you thought, huh?

The remakes for the gba aren't worth it if you've played the originals, in my opinion.

How many of you other guys got a Mew, or a Missingo? Did any of you manage to catch them all? I did, in blue, my friend would transfer his red Pokemon to me and I got all 150 of em, got a certificate and everything (in the game of course). I remember all my Pokemon were 300 or 350 (whenever they stopped leveling) and I was able to beat the elite four with one Pokemon. There is also no getting around the fact that I had 50 or so Master Balls either haha .

I'm pretty sure there are new ones in it, but on these new islands. I've played one of the remakes for about an hour, and it just doesn't feel right. It's the same game you remeber from before, only the style is a bit suffocating, and it ends up just feeling outdated and mismatched. Then again, if you go back and play the original, the only thing that bothers me about it is the lack of a run button and the need to always open the menu to use special abilities.
