Does anyone know of any good tutorials on learning scripting from scratch assuming that I have no idea of what I'm doing.

Try the "Everything you ever wanted to know about scripting" sticky.

fpsfree.com has a tut as well.

Unfortunately for me..... I've never been able to learn scripting. I tried both tuts, neither worked for me. I did a lot of trial and error, and got only error. I haven't made a single "successful" script. But it doesn't really matter. Scripting is fairly limited. There are already enough free scripts floating around and the stock scripts work fine.

But best o' luck to you.

I wrote one along time ago for version 1.
You can find it in my Add-On pack at my website.

A good way to start is by examining the scripts that are included with the software. (stock scripts)
You can learn alot by looking at them, and keeping in mind the info on pages 85 to 90 in the PDF manual.
