So far this isnt even close to a tutorial, just a list of words and their descriptions, along with (extremely) vague hints at methods you might use to accomplish things.

As said tonnes of times before;

If you're going to write a tutorial, write a rough draft, cover every detail possible, leave no rocks un-turned, proof read it, write up a good copy, then post it here. Dont just list definitions.

I posted a tutorial there that I made a while back till I could find my revised version. I have just set this up and people started posting when I was reorganizing everything.

Nothing ticks me off more than a 'tutorial' which gives incorrect information.

I'm afraid I gave up on reading this one when I read your description of variables right at the start, so I'm not able to say if there are any more errors or not.

An INTEGER uses nothing at the end because it is set by default. A FLOAT uses the pound sign (#)!

This is basic elementary stuff in programming and to be honest, if you don't know this sort of thing you really shouldn't be making posts claiming to be tutorials!

Can you do me a favor then and delete this thread?

Now that that is cleared up I can change stuff in my tutorial.

Ok, please take this seriously. If you are still confused by variable types, dont even attempt to write a tutorial. Please, its pointless, and will cause more harm than help.

Those who cant do, teach. Those who cant teach... dont teach. Period.

@ruccus - I was wondering if you could help me with "converting my functions into commands"

This the what I will use it for:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=96546&b=8

The last post is what I am trying to do extended:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=102021&b=1

Let me know if you could help with this.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I will just stick to working on my engine.

Talk to Zotoaster about that, he's writing his own dbp script engine. If you're just interested in getting your functions to react as internal DBP commands you'll need to write a dll, which requires you to have a fairly good knowledge of either C++ or Visual Basic.
