I got CS:S and my friend has the original CS and she wants to play with me and i was wondering if the 2 versions are compatible with each other online or not. Thanks guys.

The CS:S, and the CS Client/Server structure is totally different... Do some SDK reseach on both and you'll see it in a second! =P

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it's larger than 600x120....

Your best bet is to buy a half life 2 pack so you can get CS:S for her as well, I think CS:S is so much better then the original CS, but only graphics wise (obviously)
