I can understand most of this command, but I'm stuck with the local filename string section. What is it looking for here? A place to create the downloaded file on your local machine? I've searched for "ftp get file", but found nothing relating to this problem.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

It wants you to tell it what to the name the file locally, which includes the place to put it, and the name. If you just give it a name, it will create it in the current working directory.

FTP is like the equivalent local commands for file and directory management.
