I just though I'd big up this UK invention coz a programmers brain is his biggest investment!

D3O Smart Molecule Putty/Rubber - Its soft and plyable when moved at slow speed but hit it fast and it solids up.

It's already available in Ribcap beanies for skiers who hate wearing helmets. So help protect you brain and still look cool

I might have to get one for when I'm out on the mountain bike.

This was on the gadget show on Monday (if it was some other kind of 'hard when hit' putty they showed then my mistake).

They put a beanie on a melon and whacked it with a hammer. The melon didn't smoosh, I was convinced.

that putty is old, you can make a similair thing with flour milk and some other stuff. but what there doing with it sounds cool. i cant watch youtube at the moment though as it thinks i dont have the latest flash installed.
