Hey, is anyone else waiting for the release of Year Zero? 3 hours to go. I have my copy preordered on iTunes. If you don't know, Year Zero is the newest Nine Inch Nails album, coming out midnight (PST/GMT -8) on the 17th. They have the full album available to listen to at low quality (Yes, its legal) at http://myspace.com/nin. Anyone else waiting?

Torsten

Hahah, better be getting my lithogram.

It is possibly the best yet. I love The Great Destroyer, and the melody of Capitol G is amazing. God Given makes me laugh for the chorus part, and My Violent Heart is awesome. I drool from the awesomeness of the songs.

Sorry for double posting, but iTunes released the album early! I'm downloading it now. The remixed Survivalism is messed up, but awesome!

Did you know there was no year zero in the Christian calendar so all those celebrating the new millenium in 2000 were actualy celebrating 1999 years

Maybe they were celebrating the fact that they were entering the 2000th year?

Exactly; you celebrate the beginning of a new year.

Capital G, Me I'm Not, and Meet Your Master are my favorite songs. Most all of them are great though. Best ending on a Nine Inch Nails album so far, imo.

I didn't think that much of the song survivalism, not the best Nin song in the world, but I love Nin, so I'm going to get it when I can afford it, but my friend is forcing me to get Shadows Fall's new album, because apparently it is totally awesome.

When I first heard In This Twilight, I knew the rest of the album would have to be good, but after listening to it 20 something times, it got boring, but that happens with most music.

I'm gonna buy the CD, I don't like having it on iTunes only, because no matter what, when you burn music from iTunes to a CD, it loses quality. And music on the iTunes store isn't the best quality from the start anyway.

Does it? I've never noticed that, you must have done something wrong somewhere.

You don't really lose quality, as its already lost. iTunes store uses a lousy 128K bitrate. I rip my CDs at 160 at a minimum, sometimes 192. Anything higher isn't too noticeably different.

I bought the last NIN album and it wasn't as good as the older stuff. I listed to some of the tracks on myspace and I'm really not impressed. I think I'll skip out on buying that one.

Its not too noticeable, but the size of music from iTunes to the size of music on a CD burned in iTunes always goes down. The least compression it has is "Highest", but not "None", which is annoying.

@Phaelax: It isnt meant to be in the style of there old stuff, Trent tends to change it quite a lot. Besides, hes getting in his late 40's, kind of hard to do some of the stuff from Fragile, and TDS.

"Maybe they were celebrating the fact that they were entering the 2000th year?"

"Exactly; you celebrate the beginning of a new year."

Look, I took math, and not having zero screws up the world! Thank god India invented it!

"Third millennium
The 3rd millennium of the Gregorian calendar began on 1 January 2001 (rather than the popularly-celebrated 1 January 2000). This is a direct consequence of the absence of a year zero in the Common Era. Had there been a year zero, which might be considered part of the first millennium, then 1 January 2000 would indeed mark 2000 years since the year numbering datum and be the start of the third millennium." The bass goes Bomb!

I personally am enjoying the beat of The Warning myself, very creative. My other favorite is My Violent Heart, and Meet your Master.
