Hello all, I have a question that you guys might be able to help me with. If you take a look at the Bathroom sink I just made, its kinda cool but it needs more detail to be complete. I need to add a drain hole to the base of sink but I have no Idea how to do this.

Is there a tool that you can use in milkshape to punch a hole or plug a shape into exsisting faces/vertexs? For example if you make a standard box primitave and you want to push 3 holes into, one all the way through the box, and the other 2 half way into the box, how can this be attchived? I know its possible because i've done it in other 3d programs like "Google Sketchup" but maybe im just missing something with milkshape. Please let me know what you can come up with.

OK, well you could just keep adding vertexes and splitting faces to cut a hole, but due to the low poly requirement of FPSC, I'd just add a plug hole in the texture.

if i was going to make a inner drain this is how i would do it .select the top faces remember to have ignore back faces on.go to the extrude tool pull the faces down then scale them down a bit so they are not hitting the side.

I just think I would add a drain to the texture and not worry about modeling it in as well.

Doomray@

Nice Technique, the extrude tool was not one I was familiar with; I will plug and play and see what I can come up with. Awesome job with the re-make!

Butter Fingers@

I love your Black and White concept, It is really coming along sweet; I envy your skills!

FredP@

Making shapes seems allot easier to me then making textures
but I’m confident that with practice ill get were I need to be.

Thank you all for your help! Its great to have a support group to count on for these complex projects! Well back to work on the bathroom models!

While that may be true you want to keep your models as low poly as possible.
After you have been at texturing for a while you will be surprised how much detail can be added with the texture.
Just do whatever works best for you.It will all come together sooner or later.

Get 1.8.10..wait..it screws up and says you haven't registered when you have wasted like $80 bucks so far on it. I think thats the problem..I registered it for 1.7.10!

If you registered 1.7 then the your code works for all 1.x releases. I think the biggest problem you have is if you paid $80 for Milkshape!
