Thats pretty much exactly what i need... it takes a lot of getting used to but i think it will work... do you by any chance know how to scale/re-orient the textures? cuz at the moment im just texturing a sword which doesnt need a lot of detail, but in the future if I was texturing guns and stuff where I needed a lot of precision then would u know how to do it?

TIA

Milkshape does support .x files. To import .x, go to Tools->DirectX Mesh Tools. Then click the yellow folder button to open your .x file, and then click the button with the disk w/ a line on it to import it into your project. To export, click File->Export->DirectX(JT).

DeleD, free and easy (if you read the help file)I like it because you can texture by surface or poly instead of messing around with a wrapper. It doesn't do animated stuff though :/

I find the best way to texture is by dropping a real object on a flat bed scanner ....mind you donuts make for sticky scanners hehehe

It's funny how doing 3D models makes you look at the world in a whole new way...

every time I see a bannana I now think...

..ah.. pentagon cylinder with tapered ends and a bend modifier
