Hi Guys
I bought this game back in Jan 2006 & this is the first time I've really used it. Anyway I want to add my own wall poster etc into my creation but I'm not sure how.

Do I use Photoshop? & If so what do I save the picture as ie Jpg,Bmp etc?

Then where do I save it to?

If anyone can help It would be appreciated.

Cheers

Make the poster and save it as PNG or TGA if you want transperancy. Anyway. done that you need to convert it to DDS (there is a tool but i dont have a link )
Then save it to: C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\gamecore\decals\YOUR POSTER\*put files*
I hope that helps you a bit further.

You'll have more freedom if you use Gimp. It's free and totally awesome. And search for DDS converter 2 if you want to make it DDS.

I've done everything you guys have suggested but when I try to convert my picture in DDS Converter 2 I get this message...

"Conversion from PHG TO DDS using S3TC Started....
Errormaximes.phg] is not a power of 2 in size conversion has failed"

Which means what? & how do I rectify it?

PHG is not the same as PNG, that may be a clue.

Bitch Hunter said there is an error that says:

"

DDS files have to be sized by numbers that can be devided evenly by 2 or four. This error says that it needs to be devisable by 2.

Also MaxxGames has a point about the format. Try creating it as a PNG or TGA.

Those seem to be the two things that really stick out as issues.

Give it another go using the info you have been given and see where that takes you.

Try Paint.NET it's free and also on the forums there is a DDS plug in it works awesome and for posters get MagicFPS it makes them for you (not the texture, but the model)

If you zipped up the texture, FEP and .x file for your poster and posted it here someone might stand a very good chance of helping you. Of course this is optional, but it would increase you chances of getting it to work.

It should be there actually, let me explain...

The .dds is the file used to show in the game, but the thumbnail in the editor I think has to be a .jpg or something. Anyone correct me if I am wrong but you need something else there other than the .dds.

It must be a BMP 64x64 to show up in the editor as a selectable entity that you can use.

The DDS is the only thing that you need for the texture of the poster. As long as the size is in multiples of 2 or 4 then it should work.

I just use 3D Canvas Pro to make and texture all my signs and posters and then I use the free entity maker from TGC to make it a sign or poster that can be used in a game.

The Entity maker can be found here:
