In true typical University student style, our Dorm (a little under 300 people) are doing a Pub Run (Crawl, Hop, etc).

The social committee (we organize all the big events for our Dorm) had a meeting, and so we came up with a theme for the day:

iPub
(obvioulsy, a rip-off of iPod)

Being the only computer-savvy person on the committee, I got given the job of designing the T-Shirts.

Here's a download of my design (contains two versions + a psd with different colours - all in 3150x1238 res)

In the psd file, you can see different coloured shirts, but I think the final one we went for was the light blue.
There's also a second version of the design with less colours (ended up saving over $150 on printing costs all up), but I don't know which version they ended up going with.

The playlist shows the names of the building groups in our dorm (each building has a letter, I live in 'I Block'), and the captions are little sayings that they're known for.

The silhouette is, of course, me

So, what do you think?

Nice Designs. Although i don't know this legal issues about those designs.

I would have suggested printing with CafePress, but they have restricted printing sizes.

Who did you print with?

BiggAdd,

It's not deffamation or anything, simply parody for personal group use - Surely there's no legal issues.

We printed them with a local company in the town next to our Uni ('bout 1/2hr drive away).

The price we charged was $30 for the whole event per person - which covers the shirt, a bum-bag, entry into the pubs (they're closed to the public while we're there), and food at 3 of the pubs.

I'm not sure what the printing cost was, but I think it was about $15 for the more-colours version.

When I get one, I'll snap a shot of it, and post that up too

There's probably something else I should have mentioned about the shirt...

iGoons is a parody on Goon.
Goon is a nick-name for really really cheap cask white wine.
Everyone on campus has drunk it at some stage since we're all poor and it's cheap, so it works really well

One thing I'll be really interested in seeing is how well aligned the headphone cable comes out.
The print fella said he couldn't guarentee it, so we told him that as long as the back design was centered, he could shift the front to make it match.
I would say anything up to about 1cm in difference would look fine - I've seen prints of commercial shirts and bags that don't even line up that good!
We'll see.

Thanks for the compliments, guys
It was a pretty quick job - very simple, but very good at getting the point across and showing the parody of iPod.

O right, cheers for the info. I didn't mean to offend. I wasn't trying to put the designs down either, i think they are brilliant.

You should do what I'm trying to do in order to get some extra dosh for university, by setting up a cafepress store. It could be a worth while move as you can obviously work your way around photoshop, and have a good sense of style and design.

Hmm, it might be an idea, but then, we don't really have much in the way of small events around here.

It's the Pub Runs (about 10 or so a year, each for different groups), and then maybe Dorm sports, but that's it.

I might give it some thought, though... Make up some posters and put 'em up everywhere - could be good!

[EDIT]
After looking at it, that's maybe a bit too expensive.
That $15 I said included the shirts and the printing, so it's a bit cheaper (and gets cheaper the more you buy), whereas to get a shirt from cafepress, it's almost $20 (after conversion to AU from US)...

Oh, and I don't use Photoshop - I use The GIMP.
I don't think I've used Photoshop in about 5 or 6 years - It's Free software for me

I know it was over a month ago, but I thought I should probably follow this up since I said I would

Here's some photo's of the day so you can see the shirts:

Front - You can see that the printers didn't quite match up the headphone cable from the front to the back over the right shoulder.

Back - You can't see it here, but they messed up printing the back too. Instead of '07, they made it '87 (I have no idea why they didn't just use the image I sent them instead of re-drawing the whole thing and messing it up in the process!), as well as messing up the play/pause button, the battery symbol, the names, and the font (I'm wearing the red bandanna in that shot).

Lots of people wearing the shirt - Like I said, there were about 300 people on the day, and here's a select few of them.

It was a good day, and everyone loved the shirts.

The Fresher that I was in charge of for the day had a heap of dares like getting signatures all over her body, getting kisses with lipstick, etc, etc. Each one was worth so many points, and she had to get as many points as possible.
I told her she'd get an extra 10 points if she found out who the silhouette was of. Took her a few goes because I told all my mates not to tell her it was me

[EDIT]
Oh, and the Pink, Purple, Yellow, White, & ... another colour... were the theme's for each dorm (DEF, IJK, etc). We were in the pink - that's what I get for living in a dorm of 48 people with only 8 guys!
