ok so this is hardly a WIP i got one model, but I wanted to start a thread so that if people need hills/cliffs/mountains of a cretain size they can post it here. I am not going to care about enemy colision and makeing them segments, there are purely for scenery

Just to prove this isn't vapourware, heres what i made for silvermasters. its a 16 X 7 hill background. its a big model so my poly count of 6k isn't too bad.

The texture isn't great as textureing isn't my strong point. I am alright at modeling but at textureing is were i fall below everyone else.

@Tyrano man

Looks interesting so far , are you using the Terrain Generator feature in Milkshape to make random hills/cliffs and slopes? Have you tried to extrude some of the faces to give it more details in the creases? With the wrapped texture your using they look a bit too semetrical for rocky hills. You might want to try adding noise to your texture so it wont appear flat, or use a sandstone texture @ 150% scalling. If you need some help let me know.

I haven't worked on this for a long time as it was just a little thing that sidetracked me. I've got 3 BIG projects on the go (one alreasy has 2:30 hours of gameplay) and am very busy with my indy gamedev life at the moment. I am not using random generators or milkshape for that matter. I use gamespace.
