Ok,so,I believe that when a gpu is integrated,it means cannot be taken out. Now,this is providing a problem for me when looking for a new computer,because I have found a dx10 compatible card(geforce 8600gt) that I'm going to install to my pc. So I need help finding out if the gpu in the pc I'll get is integrated or not. I don't know what pc yet,but for example,would this be able to have the gpu replaced?

You can usually add a graphics card to a motherboard with integrated GPU. The bit that matters is whether or not it has a PCI-express slot to accommodate your graphics card.

I know the bit about the PCI-E stuff. Ok,well,I think I have all I need then. Unfortunately,I'm being forced to buy from best buy. But I guess it could be worse. And BTW,how does RAM affect gameplay on computer games?

Most games don't need more than 512MB. If you're getting memory hungry games like X3 and Oblivion, though, things will begin to slow down. Not much, though.


Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...

X3 is more of a CPU intensive game hence I can play it on the highest settings with lag only when im in combat. On my laptop, 12 inch...screen...laptop yep, don't play it much on my laptop....

But I think 2gb's of ram (even value ram) is a good match as long as its a known name IE Kingston or something of that sort.

hahaha,oblivion is the main game I'm wanting to play. So even though I'd have a very good gpu,it'd still go slower? dang... Now I have one final question(hopefully),should I get a card that supports the NVidia Quantum physics? I ask this cuz there was the MSI NVidia GeForce 8600GTS that had a 690 Mhz GPU,and it didn't support the NVidia Quantum physics. On the other hand,the LeadTek 8600GT does support quantum physics,BUT,it only has 540 Mhz of power. Which one should I go for? If I get the 540 mhz I can afford more memory I think,and if I get the 8600gts I can't. So what should I do?

I'm buying the gpu from newegg(my parents just don't let me buy full computers on the internet for some odd reason...). Here are the two I'm looking at:


The 8600GT with quantum physics support:

Ok,just realized I can by RAM from newegg also. And for cheaper. Going ahead to get the RAM. I'll probably get the card with quantum physics support,the 8600GT. Is that a smart idea? If not,I could get 512mb of RAM instead of 1gb and get the 690mhz card(8600GTS) instead.

you can buy your entire computer for cheaper from newegg Bestbuy's only in business to rip people off. All the way from their geek squad to the small stuff they sell. That place just pisses me off.
