Yes, I thought so too. I'm going to replace those pillars and that "lobby" segment with other ones. I will post the pic when its done.

Especially for a first try, excellent work. Most people who make first games have lots of empty rooms...you've at least thought enough to put stuff in 'em

I'm nearly finished with my one level demo/beta. Will be posting it in a few days. Almost everything (music, etc.) is what came with FPSC and updates. I Only did menus myself. I just wanted to add something of my own. Anyway, the storyline... well, it's a storyline, and maybe little cliché. Here it goes :

"As a member of an secret organisation, your job is to hunt down anyone, who dangers the wellbeing of mankind. Now you have to hunt down a mad scientist, who is developing something terrible... something, that would wipe out the humanking in a blink of an eye. You've found a way inside his huge hideout, so let the hunt begin..."

I'll post new pics here soon.

I like the lobbys the way they were before you changed the walls!

Same here. Even though you're using stock media, you're making it look good. When you've gotten a few more FPSC bytes under your belt, you'll find out that you can easily modify the existing media to work together better. For instance, you can retexture the pillars with the same image maps as the original walls. Then they'll blend in.

Nice work.

Yes, I like the old ones too. I'll change them back and retexture those pillars. Will post pic after I'm done.

Much better! Now, if you're feeling extra special sporty, model some new pillars to match the relief on the textures.

Your doing good, congrats, but could you give us a story, because thats one main part to a game, without it you would just be shooting things for no reason (acctually that sounds pretty fun)

Actually, I've told the story. Look at the previous posts. As I told, the demo has only the very beginnig of the storyline. It gets more intensive as the player gets through the levels. This isn't going to be very big game, maybe about 6 levels or so. I would be appreciated if someone who has already downloaded the demo and played it, would give some comments. I'm currently developing the second level of the game. I will posts new pics as soon as I can.

I love the new lobby pic, but it looks a tad dark. Try upping the ambience(It might work if you do a lil bit but too much and it will destroy the atmoshpere).Or try adding more light maps.

[EDIT}
Played the game, it was good.Nice lightmapping but I have one concern. The framerate. The framerate was always in the 20's so I just couldnt enjoy t as much as I should.

One problem with an otherwise great game.....

In the loading screen:

Quote: "He has also hired guards from unknown terrorist group"

Should be

Quote: "He has also hired guards from AN unknown terrorist group"

It's a small thing, but fixing it would make your game look much more profesional.

Also the framerate was running in single figures...... but I had a lot of other stuff up at the same time.

Yes, I know this problem. The game has lots of enemies and full lightmapping, I will look into these in the best way I can, but if someone has any ideas how to get the framerate up easily, please, tell me.

Eldest Dragon : Yes, I noticed this little mistype in loading screen too. Will be fixed in the next version.

I tried to get the Frame rate higher for the first level. I played the game and it was around 27-33. Now it has soft lightmaps and medium textures. I also turned all the physics off for static entities. I'll post a new download link as soon as I can.

I'm currently working on second level of the game. It has some new textures I made. I will post a few pics soon.

I think I'm going to need some help on one thing : I want to make a puzzle area, that when you enter the maze, it has some rooms with switches. Each of these switches opens a different door somewhere in the maze, or activates something else. (eg. Hurtzone, falling objects, etc.) Player has to find a correct switch to open a correct door, so he can finally finish the level. If you come up with any ideas, please tell me. I have some of my own, but they doesn't seem to be what I want.

I'm currently making the second level of my game. It's a little darker than the first one and it has some minor horror elements in it. It also has smaller rooms, because I thought that it would keep the frame rate high. At least for now it is 29-33 fps.

Anyway, here is some pics.

For puzzles you need scripts.

For the hurt zone script do this.
change this:
:plrinzone:plraddhealth-=1
to this:
:activated=1,plrinzone:plraddhealth-=1.

Then create a hurt zone that is in a large area, and give the hurt zone that script.
Then set the switch's if used slot to the hurt zone's name

For a falling trap, create an anti-grav platform with this script:
:activated=1:destroy

Then name the lift fallingtrap, give it that script, and create a switch with the name of the anti-grav platform in the If Used slot.

Then put some items with physics force damage set to something high (over 1000) and put them ontop of the anti-grav platform.

Make sure the anti-grav platform is above the switch and VOILA.

Omigosh I'm a genius j/k

Thanks, E.D.! Although I have an other problem : I'm trying to use that falling trap to an entity. (Zombie enters in a room and player activates switch, which will drop items straight at the zombie.) Well, dropping part goes well, but how can I kill that zombie? Do I have to change HurtFall, Health, or what? I've tried almost everything, nothing seems to work. I know it can be done and obviously I'm doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

The "horror" you see in pic 2 is almost everything the game has, haven't decided yet. So, yes, I'd say it has minor horror elements.
But because I'm making a first person shooter, I want to keep it that way. I just thought I'd add something else than basic shoot em' up genre. There might be more horror, or not.

Feed me more pictures! I like!

And it's good that you're not sticking to simply action or horror. Looks as if there's a bit of sci-fi in there aswell

Hi, everyone!

I'm sorry for being away. My hard drive broke down totally and I've been on holiday, but now I'm ready to continue my project.
There has been some changes for this game, I decided to remove the "horror" part. Just couldn't get it the way I wanted. Maybe I'll add it on the later levels, we'll see. I'm also trying to make this game as good as I can so it will take some time for these levels to finish. So bare with me.

I'll post some new pics this week as soon as I get them ready.

I have a problem. This came up after the latest 1.06 update. When I test 1st level of my game it's all screwed up. Enemys don't follow waypoints, the fps is even worst than it was, (4-15 FPS). Sometimes it takes about 2-4 clips to kill an enemy.

Now, could this problem be with the latest update? 1st level was made with 1.05. If someone has a way around this, please advise!

I know I could do that, but is there any other way, so I wouldn't have to make my other levels from a scratch? I mean, I haven't have any of the 1.05 bugs in this latest update, so it would be nice to keep it.
