Hi, I've been with IE Explorer since I got my first proper PC. However, on my laptop IE explorer was messing up, so I decided to try Firefox. It's much quicker and packed with load of features. Which one is best in your opinion?

Firefox. Because I can get the SMB3 theme. Which rocks.

Personally, Firefox, but IE 7 is supposed to be a lot more secure than previous versions, I've run it, no problems, I think the interface is ugly personally, but I've always prefered Firefox.

I can not open this page in IE7.

Firefox 1.5 has no problem.

I'm unique, just like everybody else.

Check it over with the error console in FF. There's a reason it won't open .

I've been using IE7 of late, because it's faster on my machine than FF. FF just seems to eat up RAM like crazy. I think they've both got their advantages and disadvantages, and in reality, I don't mind using either. IE6 is a different story though....

Agreed, it's very slow to free resources.

Just to elaborate on what I said before, I think the thing that sets FF apart from IE7 from a developers perspective is the 'extensions' that are available. I know IE7 has it's little Add-ons, but they really don't compare to what you can get for FF. I think when Microsoft come around to (if they ever do) implementing a better system for development, it'll rebuild from the somewhat dinted reputation that IE6 gave it.

Firefox because it is better looking, faster and safer and IE always crashes and gives viruses, but Firefox has only one problem when you right click save as it usually does not work that is only 1 reason I use IE

FLOCK - It pwns both FF and IE (It has all the best features of both, and supports all FF extensions. Also, it ties in with photobucket for super easy uploading of images!)

Flock is just FF with a pretty skin, and random social network features... things that could of just been coded as FF extensions as opposed to a full blown browser :/

I actually found Flock inferior to FF and IE7. When I tried it, about 3 months back, it wouldn't render pages properly and the javascript was just screwed up. It liked to keep dynamic content in the cache too, so sites reliant on that didn't work.

I think it's a great idea, but it's nothing that can't be done in FF with extensions.

I'm only using IE6, but I think IE is faster, safer(in some aspects but not all) and better looking.

I think IE looks nicer if FF is using the default theme.

IE 6 might be faster, but it is not safer, loads of unwanted downloads, including those annoying toolbars, as soon as I went into IE 6 to download SP2...Trojan horse. IE 7 is no problem for that, same for Firefox.

Im using the modern modoki FF theme. I just prefer IE's interface because it takes up less room. (its buttons are smaller)
I like Safari best of all.

I can load it here, but not from the puppylinux.org base. There seems to be something that prevents Explorer in some way.
If you click refresh (F5) then the real homepage starts.

This isn't the first time I've seen something like this happen when using Explorer. I have come across several linux-based sites or sites from those who are anti-microsoft that only support FireFox and go out of their way to design a site that literally won't load in it.

Personally I find it pathetic and narrow minded. Given roughly 80% of the internet (that would be 220,000,000 people according to independant stats on how many people own a computer and are online) won't be able to view someone's site. This would be most of the market that they would WANT to reach because they're NOT using their product. That isn't a "maybe" or "perhaps", but definately given only Windows and MacOS have Explorer.

Well enough of the rant. I use Explorer 7 exclusively, because well it does everything Firefox does.. but better.

• Opens in under 5seconds
• Tabbed Interface
• Minimal Interface to cut-down on intrusion in to viewspace
• Secure (especially on Vista with UAC active)
• Low Resource Useage (particularly System Memory friendly)
• Page Enhancement (Thumbnail on Tab-Hover, Thumbnail Selection, Zoom, ClearType, Highlight & Edit, Page-Feeds)
• Integration with Messenger, Media Player and Mail

You know, it just makes life easier. Plus it supports all of the current major web standards fairly comprehensively, except SVG. That said with Silverlight who needs SVG?
For me it's the far better of the browsers, but then again each to their own.
