Or even a sex game for the Wii. That'd give Ninty's sales an extra thrust...

This is just sad.

Duke Nukem 3d was the first game in the 3d series prior to that was leisure suit larry, where I experienced sexual overtones in gaming.

What hill? It can't go downhill if it started in a gutter

So long as guys think girls in skimpy outfits are hot, there will always be sex in games. And movies, and music videos, and on book covers, and walking down the street. I've yet to see a mainstream game that was as raunchy as some mainstream movies, mostly because we as an industry haven't employed Richard Gere yet for anything. But when we do, ooh boy, look out ladies.

the most interactive sex encounter in a game I've experienced was God of War...that just blew my mind, lol

but i remember going into the strip club for the first time, my mom just happened to walk behind me at that moment...she started to beat me with a newspapers screaming at me: "What the HELL are you looking at!?"

Its an interesting question actually...

For me - if it fits in with the game, great. Otherwise it holds the same value as the bloom-shader effect. Very pretty but entirely unnecessary.

How many of you guys actually played Mafia? There was a full on sex scene in that. You watch a bit of FMV of your protagonist mounting the barmaid and then get lots of shots of heads bobbing up and down and hands squeezing the pillow. Quite bizarre actually, but interestingly enough, it worked really well to make you care about the characters more. She wasn't just a random female character in the game anymore ... she was ya mrs!

As for sexy characters, yes. As many as possible please. Eye candy just makes it more fun. Tomb Raider would never have been as successful with a bloke.

Sexy characters? No, that was one prime reason I hated Final Fantasy X-2, the characters were tarted up s***s. Real women? Yes if I were to have a girl friend. I've always felt pixel/polygon chics were for geeky perverts...later I found that was true when I met one who is obsessed with anime orgies.

I hated playing that game because it sucked...so did FFX part 1 or whatever you call it.What a disappointment after FFVII.
There will always be sex in video games (and everywhere else) because sex sells...and,as Mtt has said...as long as guys think that sexy women are hot they will keep puttling sex in games.
I am sure that this is a hot debate among those who think video games are evil and those that think they are good (or at least like to play them/those that sell them).

To be honest, we don't see many sexy men in video games taking their kit off...Isn't that a bit sexist? What about our female/homosexual gamers? Tut tut...I'd do it to make a statement, but naked men gives me the shivers...

That completely took me by surprise, i never expected it to happen at all. And i agree, it did actually help tell the story because it made me more engaged with the characters because it wasn't just some pointless eye candy.

Really? I know Cloud did a bit of the cross dressing, but I've never seen anyone actually take their kit off...Shame, his polygons are mighty sexy.

Of course if Mario striped, that would be the ultimate in sexy polygons (and now you'll have to picture it).

Not unless it was 2D Mario, they would be the most arousing pixels I'd ever see...

I think its a good sign to stop when I'm freaking myself out...then again I'm already scarred for life, so it would mean nothing.

We don't because there is a majority of males in the game industry making games for a majority of male gamers. Not to say that there are women in both, but when making the game I'm sure the designers figure that the majority is going to want to see a scantly clad girl rather than a scantly clad guy.

Check out "Custer's revenge" for the Atari 2600.

Not that Atari supported it, but this was when any developer could make a game for a system, without approval. Hence the Nintendo Seal of approval down the road.

Besides those atari games, I think everyone who had commodore64 had a copy of Strip Poker series and "Space [kitten]"

then you mean suggestive themes and nudity not sex.
Quote: "Check out "Custer's revenge" for the Atari 2600."

somebody rated that as one of the worst games of all time, MTV i think.
what about the sims? I think there was a whole aspect that you could be gay in it, also fable had a choice of being homosexual or heterosexual. But I think that women probably don't care about a bunch of polygons.

I love this forum...... Almost every topic I read someone makes a post/posts that makes me burst out laughing.

And some of the banners at the top are good......

Art, design, discussion, noobs, These forums have it all.

And all the others.

Anyhoo back on topic.

Sex in games is difficult........ I reckon it should either be just....suggestive....(*cough* tomb raider *cough*) or like the sims.

Full on "R18" rated is just..... strange.... with 3d characters...... Although I must admit Mario is tempting
