Everybody wants to have a fantasy character these days.
So do I. Therefore I created one myself.

It is not biped yet and the uv-map still needs a lot of work.

Because my second name is lazybone, I hope that I can finish it someday.

wow looks even better ingame than the render i think, looks a lot meaner, i think this model would be great for X10 too, i think with the X10 effects it would look fantastic

Yeah e-mail lee and you may be able to get it as a stock X-10 charachter; bond got his in, and Jon is working on his.

Can't wait to see it rigged. I have a good script for this meany

thank you very much! if the man behind "Eldora - The Golden Land" will tell me this i am very flattered!

btw i was following an advice from one of your threads and i bake all the effects into the textures (though i also create seperate normal- and specularmaps for future versions) because i got so frustrated with the uncontrollable effects from the shaders in fpsc. i hope that x10 will open new possibilites

i hope so. the only reason that i installed vista (i miss my xp...) on my laptop is x10 and the possibilies that this new fpsc version could offer.

thank you for giving me hope
i will try but i saw the new x10-model of jon and this is definitely a different quality.

today i remapped the uvs and now i look at the screen of the laptop
and wait as the renderer draws the maps pixel by pixel by pixel by pixel...

I'm sure if you made the vains on the normal map more vainy and buldging that they would let you use this as a stock X10 charachter. I mean what have they got to lose? It looks just as profesional as their Aiko that they are using in X10. And they get your modeling skills for free. What's not to like for them?

Or myabe it's just me being obsesed with RPG's.

Yes, I will release it and it IS rigged but unfortunately the loincloth produced some uncontrollable results. So I have to go back to modeling.

Check the video of this animations test:

Slimboy Fat (animations test 1)

due to the deformation problems that i mentioned above with the game creators' bip-file i had to take him away his loincloth and put him in diapers.

so this poor guy isn't an infamous fatboy anymore but a demon-in-nappies

i will post some videos with the (ingame-)animations soon.

Far better. The deformations on the pelvis are acceptable now.

You can check it on these YouTube-vids:

Slimboy Fat (animations test 2a)
(about 500 frames of the TGC's bip-file)

Slimboy Fat (animations test 2b)
(the whole animation - about 3000 frames - of the TGC's bip-file)

And here is the youtube-resolution-sucks-version (9MB):
Slimboy Fat (animations test 2a)
Or you can click on the download-button

BIIIIIIIG problem:
As you can see in my previous posts, the animations from the FPSC-bipfile play well in max. But when I export them with the panda exporter and the correct settings (FPSC panda settings) and import the model with "MakeEntitiesFromXFiles" then the character looks like this:

Sitting Bull won't move or play any of the animations from the standard fpi-files.

What could be wrong? I tried every setting in the panda dialogbox and the funny thing is: If I export the SAME max-file on my vista machine (also with max 8) and the SAME panda-exporter then the idle-position in FPSC will be a "Jumpin' Jack Flash":

Help! Not just anybody! Help! Because I need someone.
And if someone wanted to help me, I could upload the max and x-files.

Do not use the make entitys from X files when making chars. Just copy another charachters FPE and alter the texture and model to suit. It should then be completly compatible if it is correctly connected to the bipped. If it still comes out funny then its Max not FPSC

Thank you for your help but I could not solve my problem even with your suggestions...

I have attached the max-file for download. It would be very helpful if someone could analyze this because I'm desperate...

EDIT:
I removed the download-link. It seems that the file is corrupted...

Clapton is God!

And in this case:
rolfy is God!

After he explained to me the difference between 25fps and 30fps he also showed me that the max-file is o.k. and can be exported with the panda-exporter.

In the meantime, after getting different results with the same files and software configurations on two computers, I tested it on a third machine, and -simsalabim- the export from max was fine!
It seems that I have to reinstall max on the other two computers...

[EDIT] It was the Panda Exporter that caused all these problems. See one of the following posts [/EDIT]

Now I can move on and fine-tune the model.

THANK YOU ROLFY!

Could you please explain what you have done to make this character work?

I have tried anything with my characters but none have worked...
