Haha, even I don't know what to call it.

This is it.

Made it in Sketchup, exported to Milkshape, textured, and got FPSC ready. I am mainly posting this, because FPSC has stopped working on Vista, and I wanted to see if this see through effect could be done. (how the red fades away to a black -alpha) .

That is why there is no in-game screenshot.

The .zip is attached FPSC ready, and it'd be great if someone could test it out and post a screenshot too. Thanks.

This is free for non-commercial use. All other uses must be e-mailed to me.

Enjoy.

That won't work unless you add an alpha channel. With no alpha channel, only 0,0,0 (black) is alpha. So, only the very top of your model will be transparent.

[EDIT] haha xplosys..

what's so funny about that?

Anyway.
Yes, it is true black. You can see it fade to it.

@xplosys
Other uses could be...
-commercial
-public demo (at show)
-personal sale
-claiming it's yours

?
Let's say you design a game, and decide to showcase it at a physical game event.

Aron. Dude I made a model in sketch up, saved it as 3ds, inported into milkshape, exported as .x, imported into FPS magic. No matter what I do anything I make in Sketch up I can't get into FPS magic.

Only the very very top of this model will be black, not any fade to it. And I might make my own version of this that is for commercial use, that will work.

Or you could just send me the texture and I could sort it out for you. But only if you make it free for commercial use too

@ANovella - I use sketchup from time to time to make simple things that only need to be single textured. Usually boxed out things like a wall with a hole in it... I export it from sketchup in .3ds format then I use the DBConv program to convert it straight to .x format now sticking with the wall situation ill take a wall fpe or fps file depending on what my need is and make the appropiate changes in the script and drop my file into its proper directory for it to work. I would imagine FPSC entity maker or MagicFPS will do the same but only issues I run into is multitexturing the model then trying to bring that into fpsc... the uvmap is all wacky from sketchup so you would have to dump the uvmap and remake a new one for that model in order for it to work properly.
----------------Edit-----------------------
how about calling it a column or pillar
