Well, I wanted to try for the text adventure competition, but I don't like the idea of having to use "IF KEYPRESS()" commands.

How is this possible?

The Person99 awards go to: 1. Jack the Ripper for hardest crime scenes. 2. Peter Petrelli for most powers. 3. Superman for longest flight. 4. "The Doctor" for best time travel machine.

DBPro has an actual Input command?

I thought it only added a couple more features. Now my mind keeps repeating "WTH!?".

Ermm (Edit is messed up), how do I use the input command.

Also, how do I get the program to only be able to print something ONCE?

Person99,

There is aslo the entry$ buffer. Which is a good way to read what's happening at the kb and you could then parse and tokenize commands.

If your just looking to detect single key presses you can also check the scancode commands.

More than likely you'll be using an assortment of input, scancode, key commands, and entry$ buffers.

Can I have a few examples of a text game?
I just want to see which coding style I like best.
