Who do you think should win the Eurovision Song contest this year? And on top of that who was worst in your opinion? Or did you just not watch it?

In the words of Terry Wogan:
Quote: "We'll be in the bottom 4 this year"

edit: My favourite song was Moldova's, and I felt that Ukrain's was umm... weird

My favourite was Molitva by Marija Serifovic, Serbia i think. All-in-all there were a lot of pretty good and catchy songs on the show.

France obviously have a good sense of humour. There wasn't many I liked this year, although they were heavier on the account of Lordi last year. The ones I did like...I forgot which country they were from lol, the ones with the girl and guy in front of two big drums, I hope they win.

Also, the interval act, Apocalyptica, one of my favourite Finnish bands, dud I think that bit was pretty cool, the acrobats were pretty good. My Mum kept on insisting one of the members of Apocalyptica was playing a guitar...Which they never do, it's all in the cello, silly woman . Now I don't normally like Eurovision, but I had some high expectations after Lordi.

Russia was a little unexpected, but what the hey, so was Germany, never thought I'd see a German Jazz band, but I have now.

Also, gotta love Terry Wogan's voice over...."Whatever you do, don't vote for Scooch"

Wow, we got 7 points from Ireland. Talk about a surprise.
What? And Malta gave us 12. I thought we would be last.

It's because we gave them Northen Ireland back the other day

It's so corrupt I wouldn't don't bother watching it. They should just let the views phone in and vote an make billions off the phone calls as everyone wastes their moeny trying to get their own country to win

Yes, it's annoying that countries all vote for countries next to them.

I can't believe any of you watch it. All the acts are rubbish, and voting is a total sham. I would rather bleach my eyelids than watch the Eurovision song contest.

It is annoying, takes the fairness out of it, that's why Russia gets so many points every year. But hey Terry Wogan made it funny.

Well, I wanted Bulgaria to win but they didn't, oh well, at least we got to laugh at all of Terry's comments about the singer of the winner band

I am actually surprised we got points though, our act was a joke, seriously aweful, I actually wish Justin Hawkins did play for UK...

I had trouble figuring out if the Slovian singer was male or female lol. Terry Wogan makes it worth it. I loved the bit were the hosts said something along the lines of "The great thing about eurovision is that it brings europe together" and then Wogan goes "Don't be ridiculous"

When he said "funny" he meant "vaguely amusing".

Or maybe he meant stupid. But I don't know, I didn't watch it.

Agh! I take it none of you two like Terry Wogan then, suit yourself. I mean you must admit if he didn't present it (or someone as funny or funnier), then not many sane people in England would bear the Eurovision, like that blonde girl, wasn't she annoying?

He's way past it mate.

The people who present these things usually are annoying and fail their attempts at humour just about every time.

We were pretty bad with the voting too, we gave Turkey 12 points - and they were the team that had British dancers

Quote: "All the acts are rubbish, and voting is a total sham"

Not all of the acts were bad, some were pretty good. Alothough when you compare the winning song to Scooch it's pretty clear that ours was awful.

The voting was a sham though. Countries just vote for their neighbours.

I'm pretty sure we purposefully lose, as I'm sure many other countries do. There is no way in hell that we couldn't get a decent song together for the Eurovision with the thousands of bands and unsigned artists in this country. The thing is, if you win it, you have to host it the next year, and it's a massive waste of money. I'm pretty sure the people who give us the acts to vote for choose the biggest piles of [blankety blank] that they can possibly find, just to ensure we don't waste money hosting it the following year.

Or people are just crazy enough to love bands like...Scooch...Actually yours is more likely to be true.

We watched it on a local Cyprus channel. Not quite the same without Terry taking the mick and getting more and more drunk as the night goes on. Although good old texting with friends in the UK (dead cheap here) kept us upto date with Terry's comments.

Personally I think we have given up. It was never that serious, but now that it is blatantly obvious that it isn't about the music then why bother? Comments like "and obviously 12 points to our neighbours..." don't help... Always amusing though that France, UK, and Germany provide the most funding (by miles, although we will never be "relegated" because of the cash) and the last few years we have been basically politically crushed (although Germany did okish this year even though their song sucked so badly). Although it doesn't help our songs have been utter rubbish. I mean a song about air stewards????? And "Do you want something to suck?" lines just don't help...

But one thing makes me wonder. The french and british songs were similar. ie. totally rubbish and as camp as you like. Fair enough they were in the bottom 3. But what the hell happened with the Ukraine? What a steaming pile of rubbish that was? Good olde eastern europe. Would be nice if we entered as seperate countries rather than UK then voted for each other. Although England would still come last...

Oh, and did anyone think the winning act looked like a japanese businessman from afar (more than 2 metres away)? Either that or the bird from the Krankies who looked like a schoolboy. Except she was straight (married to the tall bloke in the act). For anyone who doesn't know, here is a picture. Was a UK kids TV show in the 80's. She was supposed to be his son or something, but in real life was his wife. Just so wrong....

No no no. You don't understand my good man. You must have the image cached on your system. All the rest of us are seeing a big fat white image saying "I AM A BANDWIDTH STEALING WEASEL, BUT PROMISE NOT TO LINK TO GRAPHICS ON OTHER PEOPLES SITES ANYMORE". That's what's priceless!

Yeah, I just saw it in Expolorer while doing something else. Hate that sort of thing. So much for sharing on the web, and I seriously doubt they had permission to show that picture on their site. Grrr. Makes you want to bombard their site with automatic refresh requests for a few days. Bandwidth stealing weasel? For 80's TV shows? Dorks...

I've amended the picture. No need to worry about her hand....

Cheers
