Newcomers DBPro Corner / magic world woes...

i dunno if this is an xp specific problem with magic world but it keeps freezing when i load images to texture my maps so can anyone reccomend a good shareware or demo to try out for making 2d & 3d maps for import into dark basic classic

btw the only prog i know right now to do this is cartography shop but i want a "census" so to speak on who's using what. so let me know if you had any nightmarish experiences also, many TIA!


btw my rough specs are:
p3 @ 866 mhz
348 mbs of ram
tnt2 graphix card with 32 mb v-mem or ram (w/e) :-p

your video card might have a size requirement for image handling.

eg: older cards maximum texture sizes were 256 then 512 etc...


what size is the image,what format is the image.?

i tried matedit, um either it did not run at all on my machine or i didn't like it... either way it left a bad taste in my mouth.

i'll have to get back to u on the image size though i do know it was the one included with the grass and all...
