I need to say this.
I am young and live with my parents.
I love programming, and was just doing my homework, until my sis called.
My mother took up the phone, and i just heard her saying: "Oh no!"
I thought: "What's happening?" Then my mother said that my sis had an accident with her car, and that her friend was sitting next to her. My sister is OK (I think because she called) , but her girlfriend is badly injured, is what i heard. I don't know more details, but my mom and dad are away now, and i feel lonely, powerless for my sister. What do i have to do? I am scared... Sorry.

(my current time is 18:01)

Jeff

Interesting that they left you alone...

It might sound hard to do, but the best thing is to keep calm. There is nothing you can do from home so getting worked up over it wont help anyone. On the off chance something comes up that you CAN help with then it would be best for all involved that you have a clear and calm head.

Of course - that's the logical approach. Humans are rarely logical in stressful/emotional situations.

I hope all is OK. Maybe you should chill out and watch some Simpson's or something?

Hehe, or southpark... I think it is all ok, because they would have called if there was something. [part deleted because of parents... ]
Thanks for the advice!

Jeff

Once when I was riding my bike home from somewhere (i was about 14 at the time), I came almost to the top of a small hill. It's the way I usually go home, but just before I got to the top I stopped and turned around. I decided to take the other street just one block behind, not sure why. After I was home for awhile, I got a call. If I had gone another 20ft up the hill (small inclined hill, but line of sight is blocked to whats over it) I would've seen my mom's car all smashed up. Some lady ran a stop sign doing about 45 in a 25 and hit her and my sister. They were banged up and taken to the hospital, but nothing was life-threatening. (but of course noone ever tells you their condition, only that they're in a hospital from a car wreck) To this day I still have no idea why I turned around and didn't take my usual route home.

Not sure what the point of the story was, but as you can see I know where you're coming from. Best thing you can do for yourself is to just not assume anything, you'll only stress yourself out.

Some times i think that humans can be "paranormal", without knowing. Its so weird! How in the world did you manage it to exact THEN turn around? Weird!
My father is home now, to cook, and my sister and mother are still in hospital. The phone! Edit in a minute.

EDIT: !!! This evening - no-one knows about it yet - we're getting called SO MUCH!! This time it was my grandmother! What! I dont know why, i have been called 10 times this evening, all ppl just wanted to TALK! I hope my mother calls.

EDIT: You say you were 14 when you driven home, Phaelax, i am exact the same age (i know "Dont tell your age!!!") and - believe it or not - i yesterday had a strange feeling up my chest. I had a feeling something was going to happen. Dont exactly know, but i don't hope i was knowing this would happen.. Ah well. All this will become OK.

EDIT: Phone again! A friend... UNPOSSIBLE!!!!!! Ok, this is fun!

Good good, glad to hear it...funny I see this after I was ranting about driving accidents on another forum, because a kid from our school died last night from one that happened last tuesday.

You could get off the computer? We can all pretend we care, but what does it really solve? All it really boils down to is you want attention for something bad that happened but this is the wrong outlet for that.

The answers for your coping lie with your family, not online.

Cash, that's a tad insensitive. You may be right, but maybe you're not. I'm not much of an attention seeker, but if I were left home in a situation like this I would probably want to talk to someone as well, whether that be praying to God, talking a friend, or just random people on this forum. You are right that the answers lie with his family, but at the time he posted this he had no clue what was going on and no one was around.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems Jeff, but I'm really glad everything seems to be alright. How's your sister's friend btw, you didn't mention her when you said your sis was alright, though I assume you were just really relieved she was alright.

Yeah, you're right, I've been a bit negative lately. This time I wasn't even funny about it. I'll lay off a bit.
