Hiya, anyone been watching this season of Lost? - it's only got a couple of episodes left before the finale, what do you think of this season?

I've enjoyed learning more about the others, why they do what they do, and Dharma as well, although the 'purge' was really more of a whimper IMO, they kept it clinical, just like how the Others do things now. They've explained quite a lot this time round, like how Locke ended up in a wheelchair, how Jack got his tattoo's, and Sawyer got some closure last week, which although tends to lead to the characters demise in Lost, was great to see Cooper (Lockes dad) get completely owned.

I think this season has been a case of slightly filler episodes inbetween really great ones, which is fine by me, I just know the finale is gonna be amazing, and that little junkie git Charlie is gonna die soon!.

Yeah I was kinda surprised Sawyer went thru with it and killed Locke's dad without someone busting thru the door at the last minute to stop him. But he sure had it comin.

Charlie, ugh please kill him off, he's one of the more annoying ones on the show, doting all over Claire all the time (cutie!). I don't care if he WAS a hobbit.

I like the character of Juliette this season, or maybe I just like looking at her.

And what is up with that one "other", Mr. Five O'clock Shadow that appeared in the "young Ben" flashback, that hasn't aged a day in like, 30 years? What's up with that?

Timelines and stuff are playing a big part now, I'm actually starting to thing that the original residents of the island descended from the crew of the Black Rock, the big ship in the middle of the island where Sawyer killed Cooper, and where they get their supply of dynamite.

Desmond went back in time, and can now see future timelines, but that Richard dude with the creepy eyeliner, I think he just doesn't age, and I imagine he's not the only one. What surprised me was that Ben is the leader, not Richard, possibly because Ben killed his own dad, now that Locke has done the same, and also heard Jacob, well Ben is threatened, which is why Locke is lying at the bottom of the mass grave, and Ben is now on borrowed time IMO.
I'm thinking that Tom (Mr.Friendly) or maybe even Mikhail will help Locke, but Locke has no desire to become the leader of the others, Jack on the other hand, well we'll see .

Juliette is cool, but my fave character has to be Desmond, it's like everyones been damn unlucky, while he's been picked on if you know what I mean - he was sent to the island as punishment while everyone else 'apparently' crashed there or willingly went there.

It definately has been awesome. The crazy thing is that Jacob actually said "Help me". The baddest f'n thing on the island is just looking for help! Are they all dead? What is up with that? They did find all of the bodies in the flight wreckage. The others acted "suprised" when the plane went down on the island, so I doubt they were involved in the plane wreck somehow. Unless, of coarse, it was only a few of them (like Ben) and they actually wrecked another plane too as a diversion.
One thing that has definately been cool about the show is how it completely re-defines itself each season. The show COMPLETELY evolves each season into a completely different show. The characters are the same but the show is completely different.

I was just going to mention that too WOLF. I read somewhere that the creator of LOST (and Alias) is famous for taking shows in totally new directions.

Just when you think you have a handle on what's going on, BAM, everything has changed. But with strong characters, it works. Ben could have easily been a one-dimensional character, but this past week, I actually felt pity for him after learning some more of his story.

The thing with that helicopter pilot chick Naomi, well the word is that she's actually there, working for Dharma, trying to find out what the hell happend. Ben and co were doing a great job of fooling Dharma into believing that all was well, so the food drops and stuff kept coming, but once communications stopped with the destruction of the pearl, well they had to send Naomi.

The evidence of them being dead basically consists of ROV underwater footage, 4 miles under the sea - easy enough to fake footage like that, people might assume that faking a plane crash full of corpses is a bit of a stretch, even for Widmore labs, but consider that nobody is ever gonna dive 4 miles down to proove them wrong. I think the evidence was faked is all, Dharma first got wind that things were going sour when Desmond missed the numbers, then they would have to stop a search party from finding the island. I think someone arranged for the plane to crash on that island, if it even had passengers when it crashed that is. Maybe Kelvin Inman (the guy who found Des on the beach) is still alive, and all he was doing was training Des, then finally distracting him so he'd miss the numbers.

It would be nice if we could find out what the fog monster was before the end of this series but I doubt it very much :/.
I thought it was cool how the van with the corpse in that hurley found was Bens dads. Also what was the stuff that Locke picked up on the way to Jacobs?

I was thinking this for a while. 'The third policeman' was a book recommended by the producers to give a better insight into lost.
It basically reinforced the idea of purgatory and being in a kind of limbo until the 'right' thing is done. Though they have apparently dismissed this as NOT the direction they are taking.

I don't think they are dead. The other's are capable of traveling to different places in the world.

I think we will. They have done a GREAT job of answering questions and piecing everything together. I'm sure they have a good explanation for what it is. People just need to be patient and let the story unfold.

I think there's some witchcraft voodoo stuff going on with Jacob, like the ring of soil/ash around his house keeps him a prisoner in there. I'm thinking Jacob is one of the original Black Rock crew, and doesn't age, like Ricky eye-liner.

I was recently reading some of the jungle whisper dialogue, some of it's pretty screwed up, like Boone talking about Shannon, I think the voices are basically the people who die on the island, and these people can manifest as anyone they like, e.g. a soaking wet Walt, or Ben's mom, somehow they're connected with the other others, the ones who overthrew Dharma.

I spend way too much time thinking about Lost .

On the episode "man behind the curtain" when Locke and Ben are in Jacobs hut, there is a quick flash of Jacob sitting in the chair, just after he goes mad and pushes Ben against the wall. Another theory, Jacob could be the smoke monster. That was a great episode of LOST and I can't wait for next time .

I too am enjoying Lost and am looking forward to the upcoming last episodes of this series. I have all sorts of theories going through my head, but it is a dangerous thing to read some of the main Lost forums, spoilers and theory sites as it can seriously screw up your head.

I wonder what the cliffhanger will be at end of this series. There is lots of talk about many killings but nothing really about any major cliffhanger. Looks just like a major confrontation between the losties and the others. Probably find no more mention of Jacob or smoke monster this series which would be a great shame.

I hope that Jacob isn't some spritual thing. I can't stand mumbo-jumbo like that. I need my fix of scientific logical explanations or i get dissapointed.

And that Mikhail situation was wierd, apparently the "fence" "wasn't set to lethal dose". Looked pretty lethal to me, lol. Ah well, i guess some people are just naturally dogged.

Yeah that whole line "wasn't set to lethal dose" didn't fly with me, it sounded like a bad B-movie explanation, almost like the writers decided they really needed him back in the story after killing him in such a cool way.

And why would a security fence meant to keep people out NOT be set to lethal?

I just finished watching all the episodes so far yesterday, after DVRing them for the past about 5 weeks and not watching them. I think the series is getting very good. I'm confused by the whole Jacob thing, and why Benjamin is so obsessed with him. I like the theory that has been mentioned that the "hostiles" were the decedents of survivors from the wrecked ship. Very interesting how all of the characters stories intertwine.

Because it was made to keep the animals out, according to the guy on the intro tape from Benjamin's past.

Because I don't have Sky I'm afraid I have to watch Lost by 'alternative' methods and so I saw the season finale a few days ago. Lots of things happen and next series looks like it's going to be great. Long wait though.

Yeah, 8 months, and then it's only 16 episodes per season, for 3 seasons then that's it. When 2010 looms I'll officially have nothing to watch!

I download episodes then watch them through an xbox hooked up to my network. Tend to watch it on Thursday night, I do the same with Prison Break, the last season was available on Tuesday night, so it padded out the current regime of crud TV quite nicely. The next seasons of Lost and Prison Break should be damn good.
