Calling a lift with a switch is supposed to work but it just doesnt. There doesnt seem to be any way to get it to work. It may never work. Alot of people have tried.

No one has had an answer so far except to say:
Quote: "Get Dark Basic Pro and fix it yourself."

In short, the only way to get it to work is to right the code into the engine yourself. You might get lucky and write a script that simulates such a thing. That would be as close as anyone has gotten.

I have been working on getting a lift to die and spawn when a switch is hit. The lift would be sitting on one floor and when the switch is hit the lift would die and then spawn at the floor that the switch was hit on. I have had no luck getting this to work at all what so ever.

Wish I had more positive news for you.

Good luck.

Well.... you could change the lift for an anti-grav platform, following waypoints vertically up.

Then write a script so it only follows waypoints if activated.

I may do this some time.....

Strange, it worked brilliantly for me.

Just a tip, the first waypoint needs to be actually touching the mesh.

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish in the game, so this may or may not be helpful.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

xplosys, I have that script and it really works well, but I would really like a lift that goes up and down continuously.

I will try the waypoint thing again and see what happens.

Edit:
I set a waypoint path so that the lift should have gone up 2 stories and then returned.

The lift just sat at eye level and bounced up and down really fast. Im thinking that there is more detail that I dont know yet.

incense you're probably going to yell at me...... but.... it does need to be a antigravplatform, not lift .

I guess you knew but this:

Made me wonder .

Eldest Dragon, You explained it pretty well. I am indeed using the antigravplatform. My bad.

What script did you use to make it follow the waypoints?
What version of FPSC do you have?
Is there any other detail at all that you forgot to mention?

Here's the .fpm
(It's a pathetic, lagfest of a game, but the platform works)
I didn't actually script it to work on a script or whatever, I just gave the anti-grav platform the follownorotate script, placed waypoints and voila.

I'm planning on writing a script soon though .

I went through the level and found only one antigravity platform and it did not move at all. When I tried to stand on it I fell through half way and got stuck. Is there more than one antigravity platform that follows a waypoint path? Did I miss the one that works? Would you concider making a level with just the antigravity platform so I dont have to try to find it?

I have tried many different things and I just cant get it to work at all. None of the lifts will follow a waypoint path for me no matter what script I use.

I have tried all that I can think of to get the antigravity platform to follow waypoints. No Success.

Eldest Dragon sent a level with a antigravity platform that was said to do just that. It must work only on Eldest Dragon's PC. I could not get that one to work either in fact I could not even stand on it without falling halfway through.

Logic is dictating that having a lift of any kind that follows waypoints is just not possible accept on Eldest Dragon's PC.

I know that cant be right because the odds on that are astronomical. There must be a reason that the antigravity platform follows waypoints on Eldest Dragon's PC and not mine. Eldest Dragon must have something on his PC that allows it to work that I do not have on my PC.

My PC Specs:
XP Pro SP2 (with all the updates)
AMD Sempron 2600 1.60 GHz
768 MB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce MX 4000

I have FPCS V105RC2.

I have the latest DirectX installed.

There are no errors to tell me that something is missing or not working properly. I do not see an error log for FPSC.

All the other games made in FPSC semm to be working fine except for the really anoying known issues.

There must be something missing. But what?

Can anyone else please get Eldest Dragon's level and see if the lift works for them?

So it appears that a lift of any kind just will not follow waypoints.

Untill I see it happening on my PC that is what I have no choice but to beleive. It seems that things that did work have been done away with to get new things to work. The creation of issues to solve issues.

I am forced by the facts to agree.

Is there a script that can be written to make this happen?
Are the commands availible?

Seems that I read somewhere that the "move" commands didnt work.

Can someone lend some info on this?

What version is everyone using? Perhaps it is something that got jumbled with an upgrade?

I mean if it worked before, it should still work now correct?

Not always.

All my PC info and FPSC version is in the 14th post in this thread.

Edit:
I have searched the Forum, FPSC Manual and the FPSCHintsnTips.pdf over and over. There doesnt seem to be even a mention of how to get the antigravity platform, or any lift for that matter, to follow waypoints.
