Hello, I have some birthday money left over, 76$ or so, and I wanted some opinions o what to buy, I like almost everything except sports games....because id rather play those in real life, I would like it to be either for the Wii or the 360, but I cant seem to find any good ones. Anyone play any good games lately?

Get F.E.A.R for PC. It's awesome! Or, get Gears of War for the 360, no question about it. It's bloody awesome!

Crackdown! Its very good. You can also get a Halo3 Beta invite with specific boxes of crackdown only if you have xbox live gold.
Also gears of war is great too. If you have xbox live, gears of war can provide endless fun.

ok, well I decided to get C&C 3 for my 360, because I love C&C, also because it was made for the 360. It's amazing by the way, really good controls, recommend it over the PC, unless you have some 3000$ PC that can run it well.

My PC that is roughly 2 years out of "state of the art" can run C&C 3 at almost full graphics perfectly

Did I mention it costed less to build than your Xbox 360 did to buy

Just teasing you with that second comment But it is true.

You built a PC 2 years ago for the price of a 360 that can run C&C3 at full graphics?

I'm not believing you one bit! - liar!

I tried the demo on the 360, and it seems like a really cool game, but for me I can only play C&C against a mate, which is why I prefer older C&C's, like Tiberian Sun, which can go on my lowly laptop and round a mates house for a lan game. Much more fun to have an agreed build time then an all out war, with coffee breaks and stuff . When playing on Live, I got owned, severely!.

On the PC though, there's Starcraft2 coming, and that looks so cool that I'm more inclined to get that than yet another C&C game.

There's nothing to say that "Full graphics" doesn't involve a flat screen that only goes up to 640x480 in 8 colours, is there?

Stuff I've liked playing recently on the 360

Def Jam Icon - If you think you could be a bas ass rapper

Dead Rising - if your not scared of zombies

Gun - oldie but goodie, live in cowboy era

I got Crackdown for the 360 the other day. Very cool! However, Pirates of the Caribbean: Lands End for the 360 comes out today!

Crackdown is too easy. I had pretty much all the achivements in a week. Mostly achieved by jumping on roofs and collecting stuff. It soon gets dull.

My tip for game buyers is buy it off ebay 2nd hand/grey import then when you get bored of it sell it back on there. It saved me a fortune.

For the WII I would highly recommend Red Steel.
It's sword fighting system is a little weird, but it is really fun.

I don't know what to tell you about the 360, because I don't have one, and hate all Microsoft products. I just do, so don't ask why.

As for the PC, if you can run it, TES 4 - Oblivion.

That's the first time I've seen "highly recommend" and "Red Steel" in the same sentence.

Ugh...red steel...I wonder if they were just to lazy to fix the problems or if the developers were just that dumb, I mean come one resetting the gun in the middle when you go off screen....WTF?

I liked the style of the game, but that was just me.

I have not been experiencing many problems with it, but hey, I don't play WII much anyway.

Plus Osiris, if you have an Xbox 360 AND a PC, I wouldn't blow your money off on any WII game if I were you.

Is Perfect Dark out for the 360 yet?

I dunno--- I didn't like the idea of having to move my arm *towards* the TV to zoom with my rifle.

Well I gave up poring money into new PC parts every month or so to keep up a semi powerful PC, PC gaming is only for people who can spend tons of money every couple months to revamp a machine not meant to play games.

While newer games have the latest greatest graphics, the lot of them seem to be missing the freedom and fun of older games.

With your money, you can probably get 2 or 3 older games for the PC.

If you like Star Wars, Jedi Knight Jedi Academy is a really good PC game.

I never used rifles, mainly pistols and swords.

After playing a demo, a couple of weeks ago I bought Fire Captain (aka Fire Department 2) from a bargain bin and it's a hoot (it's an RTS where you play the fire dept saving people rather blowing another faction up).

So, yes, I concur that playing old games make, at least, financial sense.

I have vague plans for World Domination

@VanB

LOL, um, come to think of it, it costed a little more than a 360 does and it wasn't a full system, I already had a case, mobo, drives. I guess I should have researched what I paid for it compared to the 360 price. It was close to about $100 more at the time, my bad. Dunno what I was thinking. Still though, it runs C&C3 great in 1024x768 with full effects and graphics.

Now, if you bought this system now, it would be cheaper than a 360. Also, I don't think that C&C3 truly challenges the 360 when it comes to running the game. There's nothing amazingly fancy going on really.

Except the sheer size of my armies! Ah thats what I love, no retarded population caps...on any C&C game.

Super Mario Galaxy isn't released yet, but I can say Super Paper Mario did the trick when I was looking for a new Wii game to play.
