What a great choice , Though it isn't really that scary .

I haven't really played many horror / scary games, but I guess DOOM2 in parts was pretty cool or at least at the time it was .

I made a thread about this a while ago:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=23658&b=2

The SCARIEST game I've ever played was probably Far Cry. My FAVORITE horror game is Silent Hill 2, and 3 is up there as well. Prey was also completely amazing and can kind of be classified as horror

There's also a (hilariously bad) thread kind of like this in the game design board:

I never found Doom 3 scary, just insanely entertaining. I didn't really feel creeped out or have any jump moments with D3, and I played it at a high volume cause the audio is so crisp. Far Cry however, some momements that made me yell that were completely random AI driven. And Silent Hill 2 is an undisputed masterpiece.

No game has scared me more than Final Doom for PSX, altough nowadays it's not scary at all.

Second place goes to System shock 2.

And Third Silent Hill 2.

Doom and Doom 3...no way, never on my list I'm afraid, I was hugely disappointed by Doom 3 I'm afraid - too 'samey'. It started good in my opinion, it did have that scare factor, considering I have a dark monitor it became quite difficult to see the monsters, but after a while, it was far too repetitive in my opinion, the only sense of change was the fact the monsters got tougher, but you have a new gun by then. Didn't work for me...But I'm not saying all that I think about it, I don't write reviews for nothing you know, just go to Waza Online for Christ sake

Though I have played little Silent Hill, but I find they're a good bunch of horror games, ditto for Resident Evil and Dino Crisis. So probably Resident Evil 3 or Zero or Dino Crisis 2 (They should totally make a 3rd one).

I suppose American McGee's Alice scores for me too, some reason I like the idea of a child running around with a knife in a horror version of Alice in Wonderland, still haven't completed it though.

I really haven't played that many horror games. Doom 3 is probably one of the only ones. I remember that Natflash made an FPSC game a long time ago called "The Undead", and I thought that was pretty scary.

Half-Life 1 when it was released, I was terrified to go into vents and stuff because of the face huggers. They literally pushed me over the edge to where I wouldn't play it for days at a time.

And Doom. When it came out it was the first time I jumped out of my seat when I first saw the big pink monster.

Penumbra is pretty chilling (and it's brand new).

Prey--- the level with the little kids--- that's a little freaky.

I liked the game "D" for the playstation!

I enjoyed "Parasite Eve", but unfortuantely never finished it.

For the PC, I had a good time with "Missing" and it's sequel "Evidence".

I've yet to buy this, but playing the demo it looks pretty awesome, but I'm not getting it until I upgrade my ram, no way am I going to let an under spec PC ruin it I think Prey is proof that Doom 3 could have been much better (Using the Doom 3 engine and all) but then like I've said I've only played the demo so I don't know what the rest is like.
