ShootShoot <- Yes, I know the name sorta sucks!

Done
Dynamic creation of players/friends/enemies/explosions/solids/bullets
Altering entity properties in-game
Fully scripted
Automatic removal of dead entities
Loops in scripts
Entities can be referenced by name
Graphics
Bullet/Player/Friend/Enemy/Solid collision
Breakable solids
Solids can be not completely solid
Solids can be made to affect only certain entities

Working on
More complicated scripting such as IFs
Altering entity position in-game from script

Not done
Level picker
Score
Lives
Optimize collision

Cloggy, for his amazing d3d plugin

I have attached a command list in with the download, so you can write your own scripts

Please post you're comments!

edit:
As you can see, there is no sound/music in the game. Anybody who sends me some sounds or music for the game which I use, will get their name in the credits. (OK, thats not much of an incentive lol, but it's better than nothing)

Looks really nice. I like the trails

If you wish, you can use my scripting language (when it's done that is). Look for JemScript in WIP, heh.

@Zotoaster
Thanks for the offer, but it's taken me a long time to get this scripting working, and I don't want it all to be for nothing! (Scripting takes up about 1000 lines, and the whole thing is only just over 2000 lines so far)

Fair enough heheh. If it wasn't for me doing the same thing as you, I wouldn't have got to where I have with mine.

I played the game btw, and it's really cool. Bit hard sometimes lol, but very addictive. Good job.

Thanks

You haven't seen half of it yet though! Have you looked in the controls.txt? It contains all the script commands, so you can make your own levels, with friends (On your side, but with AI), enemies, solids (These are pretty cool, as you can set them to be breakable, and loads of other options).

Everything is customizeable from that one single script.

I like top down shooters, but I can't make heads or tails of that screenshot

Here is a full explanation of the scripting:

Command list (Indented stuff should be appended to the end of the first less indented command above it)

Parameters are shown between '<' and '>'.

Parameter descriptions:

Command explanations:

Script format:

Each command is written on its own line. If the program reaches the end of the script, it will stop execution. The script will not run a program loop between lines, so you have to make sure that the script finishes, or there is a pause often enough.

An example script is included in the download.

This is a really fun game Diggs, I found it incredibly challenging when you modify the script a bit
