Ive seen those threads made by Liam Bradbury and noticed he charges 8 pounds for a mintue long piece. As im unsure what to charge yet, for now Ill just say 6 pounds for a minute long piece. If someone could hit me up on msn or aim and enlighten me on what would be a fair and reasonable price list id really appreciate it.

dj obscure,

Post some samples up here. Not many people want to go to myspace and search your extremely busy page to try and find some tracks. In fact, not many people will go to myspace anyway. It's a known virus factory.

Very few people here are at the point of being ready for music in their games, not even a handful.

If you are at all familiar with the clientele here, you know you will need to almost give your work away to make any sales, but again, that probably won't happen unless you put some teasers up here.

As for pricing, I don't have a clue.... sorry.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

if the peices on your page arent for sale, then what do you intend to sell? you do custom work is that what your trying to say?

Im almost to the point where i need music, and even though im a producer myself, my music is not intended for games, so its a little repetitive.

I would be interested in buying exclusive rights to some music though, and your music sounds promising enough, so id like to see your site when its ready.

Yeah sounds pretty cool there for drum and bass as for using in games got to be a bit carefull due to the sample's used in the tracks.

@bULLSHOCK Yeah it will be custom work bro, just gimme a shout on msn or aim. What type of producer are you buddy, maybe get a little collabo on the scene?

@s4real I dont use dodgy samples. I make my own or use ones that are ok to use, I learnt that in 2003 the hard way hehe.

Hi

Ive been selling game music for a while now. Click here for my site!

Prices vary a lot!

Some composers charge per minute (usually around $20-30)
Others charge a flat fee of around $300

It depends on how much music needs to be wrote.

Also, if you want to sell any of your tracks, set up a website with some demo tracks and even give some away for free! If people are using your music in their games then other people will hear it and want to buy some for theirs! Just say you can use the track as long as you put my website in the credits!

This industry is hard, If you want to make it, you have to be competitive with your prices.

Theres other ways to make money also, I just had an offer from a guy who wanted to buy the exclusive licence and copyrights to one of my tracks for $2000 which means he would then own the track and I cant sell it or use it anymore. This is a good way to make alot of money quick but it means your losing one of your tracks that might be bought 1000 times next week!

Anyway, Good luck!
