hay i've been haveing troble with this one and i would like to know if its even posable. the hole idea is to turn of a light and the bad guys cant see you untell you turn it back on. and they wont shoot at you.

Once again, a global variable would make this possible. You could do it with empty's mod.

We need to start a public demonstration and demand a useable variable. lol

you could try making a script to attach to the light switch that activated the enemies.

im kind of a noob but....

if you deactivated/re-activiated an enemy then it wont move or anything, right?

well wouldnt your first instinct, if you were in a room with someone/thing trying to kill you, to be to wander around until you feel/hear/smell them and then shoot until they are no more?(and then find the lights and turn them back on)

hay guys iv got a hold of one of my frinds whos going to school on game making(he's traing to be a scripter) he helped me a little and we came up with a vary vanilla verson of the script i cannot give you the script at this time for im not at MY comuter at this time i will be in about 4 hours but heres what we did
first we thought of how to get it to work and we made the script and gave it to a light swich.
next we moded a enimeys script( in other words we add the script to his mane)
finally we tested it out and we got a room with the light and the moded swich and the moded person and when we got the guy to chase us we used the swich and he stoped chasing us but he was stell shooting us

i will haft to do a little more work on the script but as soon as the script is perfict i WILL give it out to the publick as my first time i have ever given anythang to u guys sry that i never done that its just that i dont want anyone claming my work as there own even if i put it in the terms of agreement it stell wont stop them from going up to there frinds a school and saying hay bill look at this script i made
anyway im going to give it out to you guys

a report on the script
well.......ummm........i cant get it to work right. i got my frind to help me agen but......... i thenk its not happing because fpscreator cant handle it. it requires soo much more than fpscreator can give me at the time. i WILL try agen with X10 fpscreator but for now its not going to happen

You would think you would be able to use the lightswitch and when that is executed have the enemies script :plrdistwithin=200 be chnaged to where the enemy doesn't act at all. Then when the lightswitch is turned back on the original script that was loaded is re-loaded. I have no clue if this is even how you would do it. I am the noob king, but atleast I am trying to help.

I haven't thought this through, but I think if you give the light (the one controlled by the switch) and the enemies the same name, you can script both the light to go off and the enemies to stand still using the "If Used" property of the switch and "activated=" property of the light and characters.

I don't think I will be able to get this script out right now. But with FPS creatorx 10 coming out, I might be able to pull it off. But not right now, I just don't think FPSCREATOR can handle it at this time. I just don't think we have enough technology with this game engine. But with FPS creator X10 we might be able to do it. Like I said again I don't think FPS creatorx10 at this time has enough technology to do so. I will try once at FPS creatorx10 comes out.
