How well do you think a stock 8800gts 320mb will perform on crysis with I'd say a 1280x1024 or 1024x768 resolution? Do you think I'd be able to play it with everything else on max? Near max? Because I've been looking around, and seeing as its not out yet,I'm a little reluctant to choose a video card...I'm going to go SLI by november 11th(birthday) and that way I know I'll be able to play it well.

Can you wait until November, and then put your money together with your birthday money and get the 8800. I think you will get more stability from just having the one, than SLI. Especially if you plan on using Vista anytime soon.

Hrmm, let me pull out my crystal ball.
"NOOOS, the evil!"... I think I need a new crystal ball.
Dangit, the gypsies are making a run for it!

I am pretty sure it will work fine, as long as you have a good processor and a LOT of RAM since you will be using Vista.

Seriously, considering Crysis is the first DirectX10 game and until recently the Radeon HD (Dx10) cards weren't released; what does that tell you about "if" it'll support the game at higher resolutions.

Personally I reckon that Crysis is going to be nothing but a pretty tech demo like FarCry was. Crytek just don't really strike me as decent game developers.. they just try to make something as pretty as possible.
