if you are a decent drawer then yes, its easier than most applications, because its different, there are no pulling and pushing of individual polygons and its much more free-form, as you have probably seen, you sculpt, rather than model (if that makes sense), its harder to do non-organic objects though...

Once you get past its sometimes confusing UI its very very easy.

Thanks Oolite. Because Blender now has a Sculpt button on it now and it isn't that good.

You can maybe also try 'MudBox'. It's also a sculpting program which is good for organical shapes. I prefer mudbox, because of its more traditional style UI.

I am awesome and always right.

Mudbox has a slightly better layed out UI but for some reason i just prefer ZB, especially now with this upgrade.

EDIT: With ZBrush its easy to learn because holding down CTRL and hovering over any button shows a popup window which gives quite detailed descriptions on what it does.

Blender is the best modelling program I've ever used, and I've used trials of all the "industry standard" ones.

And houdini is about £8,000 - Maya (Last time I checked) topped at £5,000...when you consider the abilities of Zbrush...really, it isn't expensive - if you want cheap programs that do displacement mapping try Blender or Silo (Silo is good, try the demo if Zbrush is 'too expensive' for your wallet)

whats wrong with blender's sculpting tools? it's near to what Zbrush does...so if you can't use BLender's, what makes you think you can use Zbrushes? Why would you need such a program too? Your obviously too en-experience to be needing such a program. Not to be harsh, but i've never seen any work, code or models, come from you.

Sorry moondog but i seriously doubt that blenders sculpting tools are anywhere near as advanced as ZBrush's. I also doubt that blender can handle a billion polygons

Oh yeah and i agree, i don't think you'd actually need ZB and are quite inexperienced, considering you don't know the cost of the 3d hobby. Just stick to Blender, considering its free and better than a lot of commercial programs out there.

i ment it does enough for what Deathhead will be doing..which is not much, lol. Besides, ZB is for high poly use, building details for normal maps...even when useing it to produce fine details for animations, they'll still just use ZB models for normal maps and apply them to a lower poly mesh.

Which means, even if you get ZB and learn it Death, you still need to know how to build lower poly meshes in order to use such models.

I'd say, study some models done by Blizz, and other company's, look at poly usage, and proper topology.

One of the ways i learned proper modeling was by studying the campaign menu models in WCIII, seriously, you can learn a lot from those models.
