It's not so bad where I live.
Toukley, Central Coast (about 30mins south of Newcastle) had roughly 300mm of rain over 2 days.

Thankfully, I'm not there, but my mum had to rip up all the carpet downstairs because we had 5cm of water all across the level. She was also without power for 2 days when the people up the street still had it (downed powerline).

A friend of mine doing Teaching in Newcastle said that the house she's staying at is on a bit of a hill, but two doors down the SES (State Emergence Service) had to furiously sandbag a house because it was sinking in the flood water!

It's really insane, and I too hope that everyone comes out of it ok.
