I didn't know where else to put this, so I guess it goes here, I have downloaded TTS to import voices into my games, I use audacity, I make a TTS file, then I put it in Audacity and make it a wav file, then I import the TTS file with 'Import Raw' and then when I go to press play all I get is a thump sound, does anyone know what is going wrong, or what I am doing wrong, or can anyone suggest another way to get voices into my games while still using TTS? For those of you who don't know what I mean by TTS, I am talking about Text To Speach.

No exactly 'Really Important!' now, is it?

Which TTS program are you using?
Have you googled for an answer?
Have you looked at the help for the TTS program you have to see if there's another way to export the sounds?
Have you looked at Audacity's help to see if there's another way to import sounds?
Have you considered using another TTS program?

The more information you provide, the better we can help.

Hey, thanks for all the information you gave me, but I figured out the problem.

P.S. This is important to me, seeing as how I would not have been able to release my game without a sotry

I'm sure that's true, but if you post thread titles like that:

1. Lots of people will ignore it, because it is meaningless in relation to the problem.
2. People will start ignoring your other posts, because nobody else sees it as important.

Hint for future - you're more likely to get a valid and useful reponse if you bother to use a decent subject line. "Really Important" is something most people will look at and think "I cant be arsed!" as it look like most spam email subject. Its like "ad blindness" which is where people now are naturally training their eyes to skip over adverts on websites - people are developing spam blindness.

It also means that, in the future, should someone search for your problem about 'TTS' (Text To Speech?) then they'll be able to find it.

I thought you were asked to read the instructions that came with Audacity and/or check out the site/forums/support for Audacity.
Some of the other suggestions that are given in this thread were also given to you as well.
This is at least the fourth thread that you have started about Audacity and problems you are having with it.
Please stop.
Do yourself a favor and forget the TTS,get yourself a microphone (if you can afford one...my headset cost about $15) and do the voice work yourself or find family, friends, etc. to help you do voice work.
And make sure when you record (however you decide to do it) that you record in .ogg format because that is what FPSC uses.

Due to your level of statements, made plausible by the virtual creations from this so-called thread, leads me to the one explanational cause, that this is an I-D-10-T error, which can be caused be the user. My functions are limited. Farewell young Chav Chap, from the greater causes of being a Two week user from this date of June 11th, 2007. LLAMAS!!

it wouldn't been better posting somewhere else like dbpro or programming languages. personally i find Microsoft Speech SDK 6.0 (which they released about 3months back) is the most advanced TTS system yet.. although not as simple to integrate as 5.1

With MS Speech you get quite a few options for their speech synthesis engine, which can be tweaked quite well. I kinda hate how the English one still sounds a bit robotic, but asian languages come out a treat. With the new one you can add waveforms for reactions while they talk; so you can add emotions/accents quite well with some careful tweaking.

Been tinkering with it since release, and really like the results it produces.

When I said he had a 'picnic' error, I had my post deleted and got told not to flame...
