this questions has been in my mind for some time, does steve harris write his music using tabs, notes or both. I Know he is a self taught bassist, but did he just learn tabs like most people do and then just claim they can play guitar, or did he learn music the proper way. Either way he is still my favorite musician, but i hope he doesnt fall into the category of people who just use tabs because they don't know music. Oh and check out this pic i photoshoped quickly

I dont think anyone here can tell you how Harris composes, but I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing. Maiden aren't all about bar chords like most bands. They actually have melodies and use different scales! Either way, I think it's fairly redundant. It's the end results that matters.

Hardly, look Eddie is left handed!

I met Steve Harris once, he was actually at an open day for a college I was applying for, his daughter was applying as well...unfortunately I didn't get into that college, score with his daughter and get rich and famous from her father.

I say if you're wondering this for your only playing, just do what works best, I use tab, but other prefer using the actual music (That can help if you play another instrument that isn't in the guitar family

I actually Flipped the picture so because on paint it would not fit into my desired size and if i did it eddies head would be out of the pic so its actually the wrong way round on the pic you seen.

ya deathhead, i also own every album by them and i can actually identify any of there songs within a couple seconds (some take me a bit longer thought)
