It's old technology now. AMD are about to release a new processor architecture to take on Intel who seem to be far out front.

anyway I don't like new stuff(too pricy)
Intel have always been ahead of AMD anyway. Intel make a 5 odd billion at least over amd.
Also I don't need the latest stuff because i don't play games on a 22inch lcd. I only have a 17inch CRT! Yes thats right!
Also a X2 3600 is only £45!

uhh proc speed doesnt affect Digital output display, thats graphics cards...

lol... does the monitor even affect display reguardless of the GPU?? It would still be outputting the same thing no matter what was displaying it... right? or am i wrong?

Although you do need a decent processor for a good gpu I think because it would do poorly with a low processor and vice versa

Monitor does affect the display, a dodgy monitor won't give you very good colour and the blacks will look 'washed out'. Whereas a good monitor won't have these problems.

I know about this because I have said cheap dodgy monitor.
