There's a war game I want to get. It can render up to 10,000 extremely high quality soldiers, all with their own look, along with hundreds of different bones, that even interact with enemy soldiers.

But the game requires some extreme equipment.

My Spec:
512 MB RAM
200 GB SATA HD
3.0 GHz P4 Processor
128 MB IGA Graphics Card

Required Spec:
1 GB RAM
11 GB HD Space
2.2 GHz Processor
128 MB Video Card

Desired Spec:
1 or 1.5 GB of RAM
500 GB HD

Total cost:
$50 game
$40 RAM chip
+ $180 HD
$270

Is $270 (£137)(€202) worth it?

You need a realy good graphics card to shift 10,000 soldiers, even though the specs don't say so, id concertrait spending moeny on that.

Yep! LD52 got it! It IS Medieval II: Total War.

@GatorHex
I have Rome: Total War, it's the game before Medieval. It's not even close to as good as Medieval II, but I can still support a good 7,000 soldiers. Of couse, at 7,000, it tends to lag. Lag free usually stops at around 3,000 soldiers.

I did hear that, with the right parts, Medieval II is completely jaw-dropping. Everyone on the Medieval forums gives it at least a 9.2+ not to mention it's part of the Total War series.

I love Rome: Total War, one of my favorite games. I got Medieval II and have played it some too. But like you said, it's a lot laggier than Rome, so it gets annoying when you get a larger army.

@Gil Galvanti

Yea, excellent games. But, of course, every excellent game MUST require something. I mean, yes, excellent games. But, worth $270?
That $270 will also cover future games, so I guess it wouldn't ALL go to waste.

The one thing i don't understand is why you need a new HD (if your refering to Hard Drive) couldn't you just clear up some space on your 200gb hard drive.

True. Why waste 300 GB more when you can waste 11 GB? I should just buy a RAM chip then.

Thanks for the advice LD52.
