Hi guys,

I only had $500 So i was on a tight budget.I only wish i had gotten better.

THESE WERE MY OLD PC SPECS:

Processor:Amd athlon 1800+
Processor Speed:1.5ghz oct to 1.6ghz
Motherboard:Epox
Ram:256mb ddr ram
GFX:Radeon 9550

MY NEW PC SPECS:

Processor: Intel Pentium D Dual core
Processor speed:3.2ghz
Motherboard:Asus
Ram: 1 gb DDR2 Ram
GFX: Asus Nvdia Geforce 8600gt

As you can see these are a huge change.
I only wish i got a core 2 duo. At the time I didn't know much about core 2 duo then.

Well tell me what you think if What i got was worth the money.

Damn you Americans, cheap computers if I could get that kind of computer for $500 here, I would have done by now Personally, from a British point of view that's worth the money.

I got a Pentium D just before the core 2 duos came out, only I got the 3.4ghz variation, the D950 i think. Anyways, I'm pretty gutted that I didn't wait 2 months for the Core 2 Duos to come out and drop so I could have got one instead

You can get a bloody good computer for 250 quid here. On Eclipse that'll get you a DVD writer, a 320GB hard drive, 1GB of memory, a dual core running at 1.8ghz (more than enough) and a 7300. I've played Oblivion on it, and it runs pretty smoothly at full settings, even if the resolution is at 800x600. But that's enough, should you ask me. Drop the settings a bit, and it runs pretty well at 1024x768.


Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...

Yeah i was pretty stupid as well. I didn't realise about the core 2 duo, I bought me upgrade and THEN A friend of mine said "hey have you heard about the 2.4ghz core 2 duo? Quite a fast bugger! Faster than the dual cores"
I went insane.

Yeah i wanted to upgrade so i could play oblivion as well. But my old pc spec probaly couldn't even run olblivion!

if you want. Either way the processor is decent. Just the core 2 duo is more decent than the pentium D.

WEll for the multi-tasking i Burned a dvd, Was playing a movie and decoding a dvd. It ran very well.

I've tested it on the games:
Doom 3
Rome:total war

I ran doom 3 on ultra high graphics and it worked fine. Very little lag, usually when the start of the level played. There was like 2 second lag.

I also ran Rome:total war on full settings and it worked quite well, But that was only a 1 on 1 battle. If i had 8 players playing at the same time, It was very eh.... Bad. Very laggy, i think it
was around 2-15 frames!

My specs suck tbh, i need to upgrade or get a new pc this year, cant afford it right now tbh but hopefully by the end of the year.

Intel Celeron Processer 2.6ghz
768mb DDR Ram
68mb integrated graphics

how the hell i run games is beyond me, usually have to turn the graphics down lol, wish it was as cheap as that over here (UK)

How come you can build so cheaply? Though I wouldn't ask you to, but I'm curious about how you can get it done so cheaply - I'm assuming you can get them at trade prices or something like that.
