When are these supposed to drop down? Is NVidia or ATI going to release a card soon? If not,the gpus will be priced around the same. CPUs I can see dropping when the amd phenoms come out,or the intel octo cores come out. Other than that I don't see those dropping. And ppus,I can see those dropping whenever ageia finishes up their next gen ppus, which I'm 98% certian they are making(seeing as one of their engineers posted it on a forum...). What do you assume these products will be priced at or how much they will drop?:
Core 2 Quad Q6600
Core 2 Duo E6600
Amd Athlon 64 x2 6000+

BFG Tech Agiea Physx Accelerator

NVidia 8800GTX
NVidia 8800GTS
ATI Radeon 2900xt.

BTW,still haven't bought my computer,I keep changing my mind on what I want. Right now I'm looking at an amd athlon 6000+ with a radeon 2900XT. Either way I go,I'm going to upgrade from this:

NVidia Riva TNT2 Model 64 - http://www.nvidia.com/page/tnt2.html
Intel Pentium 4 1.3GHz - All I know is that it costs 14$ right now...

And the other things I don't know. I know you can hear my fans in my hardware from two rooms away...they are louder than 2 ati radeon 2900xt's,if that gives you an idea of how loud these are. Basicly,I won't know what to do with my new computer, its gonna blow this thing away...

For a quiet PC my tips are...

Core 2 Duo (or similar based on Pentium M architecture) they were designed for laptop so run cool and efficient and don't require much fan.

nVidia GPU with heat pipes instead of fans

big fans. the bigger it is the slower it has to turn to move the air and so the quiter it is

If you can hear you current PC fans from 2 rooms away it is a sign that the heatsink is full of dust. You should clean this because I have seen PCs set on fire!

Don't get a PPU, dead technology that hardly any game support. Although you could get nice physics in DBPro .

Computer says n00bed

I guess then unreal tournament 2007 will be using dead technology, along with the gamebyro engine. Its not dead,it just hasn't caught on yet. The unreal 3 engine is going to make it much more popular since it utilizes ppu. And anyways,as a game developer using physx, wouldn't it be smarter for me to get a ppu? I think so.

@gatorhex - My rig is going to run very cool. My case has 8 120mm fans in it,plus an air vent on the side,so I believe it should run rather cool. And honestly,I WANT my computer to set on fire, cuz then I have MORE of an excuse to get a new one sooner

If you want to toast your pc, wedge paper clips between random solder joints and jumpers on your motherboard. Just disconnect your HDDs first. Spraying it with a fine mist of water should do the trick, too.

Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...

I wouldn't get a PPU if I were you.

Intel's and nVidia's new processors are so gloriously amazing you won't need one.

also intel's and nvidia's processors don't offer the amount of flexabiltiy as the ppu. And a fun little quote,I'd rather have one and not need it,than not have one and need it hehe, that quote fits this perdicement perfectly

If you get the GTX don't buy a PPU, the GTX can perfectly handle that.

But if you want some fun with dbpro physcics.. yeh buy one

I am awesome and always right.
