I recently downloaded AVG free for my PC, because I got worried about viruses. A couple of minutes ago, an AVG window popped up and announced that a virus was found on my computer and AVG had placed it into it's virus vault and my computer was safe. The virus is called "Exploit.ani" and it was found in my "temporary internet files" folder under the name "riff_last[1].bin". Now, just to put my mind at rest, should I delete the infected file or should I just leave it, keeping in mind that AVG says it is safe in the Virus vault and it is no threat to my computer? I posted here because I feel more comfortable posting on this forum instead of another one.

Well, if you can, delete it! It's like saying a Borg drone got into my house but I locked it in the cupboard, should I vapourize it?

Shadow Heart: did you type that with your face?

Opposing Force: in case you didn't do it the first two times someone said, delete it. I think its a custom cursor from a website that has some malicious code embedded in it.

I don't have a sig, live with it.

If you have system restore on, it might be a good Idea to turn it off, then delete, an rescan.
