Urm, did any one else get an email from a guy called 'Phlum'?

I have no idea why they bothered sending me a spam mail, but it was one of thise dumb 'Post this in (a certain time) (event will happen)' emails.

Just delete it/add to spam folder/whatever. Not much point posting here imo as there's more you can do to stop them spamming you than anyone else here.

Why does that name "Phlum" sound so familiar, and yet I can't remember a forum member with that name?

He spammed me too.Apparantly there are people who cruise the internet thinking that there's not enough spam in the world and they ought to add to it.
Just put it in your spam folder with the rest of the garbage.

The problem is this forum source code is using lazy HTML/JS "mailto:" code to provide an e-mail link.

It's easy for a spammer to use automation to collect it so I'd advise not exposing your e-mail address here.

<a href="mailto:c4sh.curt1s#gm4il.c0m"><img src="g/email.gif" width=54 height=19 alt="Send this user an email" border=0 hspace=4></a>

I've disguised it a bit, but you get the drift

Somehow I don't think this guy has an automated spamming machine.

Sounds to me like he just added everyone from his address book to the email, as people tend to do when they are sending chain mail.

The mystery is why he had your email addy in the first place...
