Hey guys, I've been away for a long time up in Alaska and I've finally gotten back down here to Cali and I started working on a game. Basically what I'm making is a simple little fun shooter game using all my characters no one likes. The player uses the mouse to aim and shoot out of a hoverpod while at the same time freeing your friends and collecting trophies from each level. As you save your various alien/monster friends, they will appear and wander around in the lobby.

It's looking very nice, Crazy. It's a new concept, at least. All the people who make FPS's and MMO's (or supposedly - nobody makes too many of those around here these days) need the awesome graphics to cover for an unoriginal genre. What you've got there is very interesting.

Thanks digital and Deathead! I'm pretty close to making enemies be killed by the laserbeam (which is that ugly white line with a sphere at the end right now)

Okay, I've got some basic Ai working now! Basically the enemies will walk around aimlessly until the player gets a certain distance from them then it comes and attacks.

Thanks. Yeah, the white lines where just for testing and getting and idea of where it was aiming. I've got an interesting system for shooting that I stumbled upon; the bullets, instead of going straight follow your mouse. It's hard to explain but this way you will have to keep your mouse on the enemy to lower their health enough to kill them while the bullets swarm to your mouse. Things like missles however will fly straight like conventional shooters.

Updates!

I've finished building the portal system that will let you go to different levels. The first one, seen in this screen, is a pirate level. It will have beaches and the sort... It looks real nice with the paricles going and the icon above the portal spins around.

Looks like it's good old arcade blasting fun How will the mini-games be implemented? Any chance of a Fraps vid? Like to see some of this in action, see how everything comes together.

There is a fraps vid for download (but you can just hit open) in the first post. It very out dated no shooting, portals, aiming, bad guys or very much at all I will make another video when I add a bit more stuff.

As for the minigames, there will be a section of the lobby where you can play arcade games. They are unlockable by collecting certain tokens in the actual levels. By fulfilling certain goals in the minigames, the player will recieve upgrades to shielding, weapons, and speed.
