How would I make a menu with say... 2 buttons? Play and Exit?

I really don't care about how it looks, I just want to know.

I mean I can make the menu, it's just, after that's done, how do I get it to switch to game mode? Using that evil gosub command I've never understood?

Since you have not supplied enough information if the game is in 2d or 3d i will assume you want it in 3d.

If you have not explored gosubs and functions with TDK's tutorials this will make no sense whatsoever.

I would suggest you do all of TDK's tutorials before getting too deep. You need to learn the concepts of functions / arrays etc, or your going to only hurt your programming ability.

anyway here we go.

If you can't find the In-Game Menu Tutorial, it's number 16 here:

If you think you can handle it, I would use sprites. Just position a dummy sprite at the mouse position and determine if it has a colliion event with your menu items.

Practice makes perfect. But if nobody is perfect, why practice?

Alright, thanks. I'll try the suggestions you gave me. I'm a pretty experienced coder in come other languages, just new to this one.
