This is the one question that I can not find the answer to in oblivion, Do items respawn. I know enemies respawn and certain npcs (such as Guards). I also know that items found in containers, chests, ect...do to,but what about items that are on display in shops or on shelves in guilds. Im not sure how the respawn system for items that are visible and not in containers works, if there even is one. I really hope these items respawn just to make theiveing more fun. Also if they do not respawn and u no of a mod that does somehow make them respawn PLEASE tell me. Thanks

As far as i can tell, they don't, you could always just make your own mod, just open up the TESEditor and check the respawn box in every single item....

I don't think items respawn unless they should, for example, plants ingredients do. And am I having deja vu or did someone ask a very similar question to this before?

It's not deja vu, and it was asked by you. Why did you ask the exact same question you already asked?

K i have the constructor set, but their is no option to my knowledge that makes the object respawn (unlike npc who have this option), my guess is that you right click the object, select edit, click on the extra tab, and change the count variable from 1 to -1. If this is correct piz tell me.

Just to be honest, why the hell do you want them to respawn, takes away from realism and if you need money...

Its just pointless effort in my opinion, for no real extra gain.
There is also hundreds of mod sites for oblivion, so just take a look on those.

im pretty sure its the opposite. If i stole food from someones dinning room table, are u saying they would never in their life put more food on it. Same goes for other things like spoons and forks, are they gonna start eating with their hands, no there gonna replace their items. Im not theiveing for money, because if you havent realised you dont gain much quickly from theiveing (or at least as much as you could in the arena, guilds, quests, ect..), im doing it for fun. Money is no problem in Oblivion as i have owned all the housed fully furnished on one profile, i want them to respawn to enhance the gameplay, and REALISM. It looks really stupid if you rob a store, and then when you come back weeks later their still in business, but they no longer have diplay items. Also if its not realistic why do items in conatiners respawn. Take the time to think about it if you need to. Lets see if you can understand my point now

I'm not going to argue with you so don't patronise me, i'm saying its too much work for too little a reward, i'm sure there is a mod out there anyway and if not, i'm pretty sure it won't be too hard to make one yourself (time consuming and tedious but not hard) so if you really want it this much then make it yourself...

You wanna know what looks really silly? You go into the shop, and there, on the counter, is the exact item you are searching for. You talk to the moron behind the counter, who does not have it in their inventory. You try any way you can to extract the item without being caught, but after 10-20 savegame reloads you end up console killing them.

I believe most in-game areas reset after a certain amount of time in-game. There are mods out there that increase and decrease the length of time that cells wait in between each reset.

The only exceptions I would believe are storage containers in houses that you as a player own. Of course, you're not about to rob yourself, are you?

If you want to add a touch to thievery in Oblivion, I can suggest a couple mods for the PC version.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul - Disables scaled leveling, makes the game more of a challenge, and keeps your average low life bandits from acquiring glass armor from thin air.

Thievery in the Imperial City - Adds a second thievery storyline, so you don't have to resort to the Thieves Guild. It isn't completed I don't think, but it provides a nice storyline, with a fence that isn't associated with the Thieves Guild.

Yeah, that is annoying, but easily fixable through the construction set (if you have it for PC, that is). Just find the shop cell and owner, and all it takes is dragging the needed item to his inventory. It'd only take about 3 minutes.

I really can't get my head around the construction kit. I don't understand how you only make small changes. It keeps outputting 500-700mb files!

I believe that's due to the fact that it outputs an entire cell's objects and characters, not just the additions you made.

I feel like making a Dead Rising type mod for Oblivion.

Don't save out the oblivion.esm, just make a new esm file and make it the master, then just save to that.

There is a wiki on TES and a lot of resources, just google it.

I know, but the tutorials all assume you have a basic knowledge of how it works. Which I don't.

TES is not that user friendly unless you mess around with it, sort of like 3d max 5 =\
