I attached my dxdiag for anyone that needs it:

But heres my system in a nutshell:

CPU: E6600 @2.7ghz
GPU: 8800GTS @ 570/810
RAM: 2Gb of DDR2-800
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA 965P-DS3 socket LGA775
DVD-RW drive
160GB HDD

All I get when I start the FPSC_X10_TECHDEMO.exe is

DirectX 9.0 installed (589824). requires DirectX 9.0c or later

And when I click okay:

This application has failed to start because d3dx9_32.dll was not found Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Please help, I really want to use this techdemo

Halo 3 all the way.

Okay, so does that mean that directX 10 does not come with vista?
Because in my dxdiag it says I have DX10.

So I need to download DX9.0c then?

Direct x 9 and Direct x 10 are two different things. If the demo requires Direct x 9 to work it won't work if you don't have Direct x 9.It's probably a good idea to have Direct x 9 on your pc anyways since programs do and will continue to use it for quite some time.
Nothing wrong with getting ready for the future...just don't leave the present while you are doing it.
