FPSC Classic Models and Media / Character problem

I have tried to import a custom character into FPSC. Whenever I set it in game and run it, it floats above the ground where its feet are eye level. It keeps assuming the animation that it is falling, while changing to shooting. I have experimented, and I have no clue what I have entered wrong or done wrong. In the view port the model's location is 0,0,0. another thing I might note, is that when I place it in the FPSC view port (in the map), the mesh's preview looks scrambled and deformed (but not scrambled in game- only some distance above the ground).
