Hi,
I am buying a new computer, and was just curious of this computer could handle FarCry at 1280*1024 at very high settings:

I hope so, I'm nervous to buy it. In a range from 1 - 10, which number would you give this computer FOR FarCry?
Thanks!

Jeff
(I already have a Screen, a Sound card etc... All whats not on the list I've buyed already.)

11, that PC would really go upto 11 on FarCry.

I've been playing it recently, funny how it's stood the test of time - it's freaking awesome until you get to the little gorilla dudes that slash you all to hell in about half a second - I kinda wish they'd stuck to human enemies.

Lol, i've been playing the demo on my sis' comp, but even on easy mode you can call it nightmare! I love the game, it's BEAUTIFUL!

Gorillas? Interesting... I am excited of this game!

But 11? Will it have 60 Fps all time then? Wow!! This helped me out alot! Thanks buying in a day now!

Jeff

PS: GeForces rule the world!! (Almost)
PSS: I've played this game on 600MHz!

I imagine it'll run silky smooth the whole time - I mean my bro's new PC eats FarCry alive, and it's less spec than that, so you should not be concerned.

I don't want to spoil the storyline, but eventually you are up against some really tricky enemies, they actually make me miss the damn helicopters!.

Oh, thats really annoying i know just like doom, when you hear through your radio "I've locked myself up in locker... 351. If you can hear this i am not far." And then you go to that locker and when you are almost there you hear "AAAH NOO Please not AAA (More gore)" And then you think: "Sheez, if that guy was alive, we could cooperate..." But the doom 3 engine is not build on that.
Anyway, I love the game. Look at attachment .

BTW: How would it handle DOOMIII?
And Half-Life 2?

Screenie makes me wanna play it , it's such an engrossing game, especially when you can explore with a jeep for a bit, I actually wish there was a seek and destroy mode, like just have a big section of map with enemies running around, and the player just has to kill them all.

HL2 and Doom3 will both run beautifully on your new PC at that resolution, smooth as silk, should look amazing too. Newer games like Stalker would run nicely as well, you'd probably like that if you like HL2 and Farcry, it's almost like those 2 games had a kid .

Jeff, I don't think you have much top worry about, that PC will play most, if not all games currently out smoothly

The only thing I would add to that computer you described is more RAM. 1GB is on the lower spectrum by todays gaming standards and you will notice a difference if you go to 1.5 or 2. But really, your new computer will be freaking awesome. Don't even ask if it can handle current / older games anymore, because no doubt it will.

On my current computer i have 512Mb RAM, so that would be no problem, since I'll put that one in the new comp.

Thanks!!! Wooh, i will love the day i'll buy it.

my pc, an old updated dell from 4 years ago can run it at high. I have a gb of ram and an ATI Radeon 9250. Old crap and it still works at high.

so yours should work.

my pc runs HL2 at full graphics. no problem.
