Yeah. They released the 8400GS. I had no clue they did this. Its 128mb and 256 mb(two versions),but its really cheap,so its good for non-gaming and all that stuff. I find it interesting they released it personally. I wonder if they'll go ahead and release the 8900s or just release the 9 series instead.

Edit - On top of that, apparently ati released a 1GB version of their 2900XT,which is actually quite interesting,if its not gddr2 and gddr3.

I think it would be wise to go with at least a 8600 GT/GTS.
That is probably the bottom line for games.

I don't think they've ever released a 7 class in any other series before. Its only like: 8,6,5,and 4. and 9. but the 9 class in the geforce 8 series isn't out yet...

That kinda misses the point, you can do with a lot lower end card if you don't want to game, even watching movies etc doesn't take a monster of a card.

Since we're game developers I'd have to believe that making games for Direct X 10/Vista is goiing to take the same amount of juice as playing them so in my case it would be useless. For $10-20 more you can get an 8500 and,as far as I know, you can play games with that card. All of the reviews on the 8400 I have read say you can run Direct X10/Vista with them but woe unto those that want to play the games.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

Wait to get the HD 2400 or HD 2600, released soon.

Time is ticking away.
