Hello, everyone!
I want to introduce a game I'm working on with Dark Basic Classic.
(Yes, I'm still using Dark Basic Classic. Am I the only one?)
It's called "Earth Protector 2".
It's the sequel to a game I wrote a couple of years ago.
(Hence the "2".)
The subject if the game is to protect the earth from space invaders, using a spaceship you steer around the world.

Screenie:

So anyway, what do you think?

You're not the only one. My Text Adventure for the compo is being done in DBC, Starwraith series are made in DBC, so there's some DBC around still. Join the resistance .

I think I can think nothing of this gameplay-wise, but the looks aren't bad. We need more than a single screeny, lol.

Good to hear, that DBC is still around.
And you are making a text adventure, which makes it a lot more retro.
Anyway, I could show you more screens, but there wouldn't be that much of a difference.
It's all about shooting star ships, catching power-ups with the tractor beam and so on.
What I can do is show you a video, and I probably will really soon.
But it won't take too long until it's done, anyway.

Why do it in DBC when you could do it in DBP? . I don't understand why people who have DBP still use DBC sometimes .

Anyways, screenshot looks pretty good.

I assume it's because certain commands work "better" for a text adventure in DBC, not just to rebel against the awesomeness of DBpro.

I love the earth you use, but the sun's light is a square. Change that so it doesn't look blocky. Nice otherwise.

Well, even DBC is too sophisticated for a text adventure.
Making a text adventure with DBP would be like building a sand castle with a excavator.

Well, it's not as 2d as you might think.
It got some cool 3d particle effects, you will see.

Yeah, that's a bit tricky, since the sunbeams overlap the texture.
I didn't think it is so noticeble, but I will see, what I can do.
